The Day Job |
Thank you to the officers and
Committee of The Cairn Terrier Association for inviting me to judge the Limit
Show and also for their generous gift. Also I would like to thank all of the
exhibitors who entered their dogs under me – I am very grateful for having such
a fantastic entry with very few absentees.
The hall seemed to have
changed slightly acoustically which unfortunately made a few of the dogs ‘fly’
their ears or not show to their full potential.
Temperaments were excellent with many kisses being given on the table! Coats
in general were good – naturally at this time of year there are going to be
growth spurts with some coats in need of a bit of attention. Personally I found some of the dogs on the
weighty side which detracted away from their overall construction – I did
question fit for purpose on a couple of occasions.
My thanks also go to my stewards who assisted in
making the day run smoothly.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (3,1a)
1st Dolan’s Glenrood Magic Pipit. 14 year old wheaten
bitch full of life and mischief! Pretty head and expression,
good teeth. Presented well and moved with drive, seemed to enjoy her day
2nd Day’s Trekhilli
Chilli Pepper at Tre-ki Sh CM 7 year old dark bitch. Presented in
a shorter coat than No1. Nicely furnished head with nice dark eye and
correct expression. Strode out and moved with intent.
Minor Puppy Dog (2)
Lovely class – both made their
handlers work!
1st Mear’s Glenmear Magee. Took my eye
as soon he entered the ring – an up to size red wheaten 7 month old puppy. Good head - furnishings are coming through,
with dark eye of correct shape. Slightly short of coat yet this showed a clean
outline with lovely reach of neck with well set
shoulders and level topline. Best Puppy Dog
2nd
Brennan’s Cloverbrook I Mean Business TAF. 6 month dark
brindle. Less mature than 1st. Good expression with correct
ear set. Moved ok, and held tail on
move. Good connection with handler when settled.
