Notice of 2020 and 2021 AGM

Dear Members,

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic we were unable to hold our Spring Open Show and AGM in 2020.

The Kennel Club has agreed that a registered society may diverge from the process prescribed within its constitution for AGM business conducted between 5 February 2021 to 31 December 2021. This has been made possible through the enactment of Kennel Club Board directive (Regulation C5.e. – 5 February 2021).

This allows for the following options for processing routine AGM business:

-  AGM approvals and elections by written resolution/votes – by email/post

-  Online meetings

The previous KC advice that 2020 and 2021 AGMs may be held one after the other remains in place.

The Kennel Club’s intention through this provision is to allow societies to temporarily relax some parts of their constitution in the interests of the smooth running of the club during the current restrictions which prevent ‘normal’ processes. The guidance may not exactly ‘fit’ the situation of each club but we hope will provide clubs with a way forward for the present. Club committees are advised to process AGM business in the spirit of this guidance and ensure that a record of decisions taken is maintained.

The Cairn Terrier Association will therefore be holding both the 2020 & 2021 AGM's Meeting on the 10th October 2021, with the 2020 AGM commencing at 1:30pm followed by the 2021 AGM at 2pm

Members are invited to submit topics for the Agendas in writing either by email or post to the Hon. Secretary, Lynda Hughes by Midday Friday September 24th 2021.

The two agenda's will be posted on the Club Website a fortnight in advance of the meetings Anyone wishing to be sent a copy of the CTA Annual Accounts and meeting minutes (2019) Accounts to be presented at the 2020 AGM & 2020 Accounts to be presented at the 2021 AGM), please contact me as soon as possible and I will arrange for the Treasurer to send you copies.
