Midland C.T.C. Cairn Day 2008

28th September 2008

Held at Shirland Village Hall, Nr Alfreton, Derbyshire.

 

Another bumper turn out for the MCTC Cairn Day. A good mixture of Pet and show Cairns were in attendance.

 

The day started as usual with a trimming demonstration, lots of tips and advice on offer to a keen audience.

Trimmers were – Linda & Alan Firth, Maud Hawkes, Monica Ball. Alison Wragg & Dawn Innet.

Chris Roberts had a busy day with the C.T.R.F. stall

 

After lunch Monica Ball & Brenda Shannon organized Fun Games for Cairns & their owners

 

The final of “Musical Mats” was highly contested but Judge Monica declared Trevor & Evey the winners after a disqualification for cheating!  (Shame on you Carol!)

 

The  “Handsomest Dog” was won by Karen’s Chase (Doesn’t he know it!)

“Temptation Alley”

Cairns and their owners had to weave around a course of plates full of tempting treats – Sausage - choc drops - cuddly toys and Barbara Burgin’s doggy delicious Liver Cake!

Monica fell in love with baby Bubbles and declared her the ”Prettiest Bitch”.

Well done to Trevor & Ruby - Final winners of “Temptation Alley” The hardest Game of the day!

 

After a finger count - Monica awarded Anne’s Molly, Best “Sausage Catcher”

Ruth’s Tia easily won the “Waggiest Tail” stakes, Finally our Judge Monica decided that Angus was the “Dog she most wanted to take home“

 

And Now for the “Ahhh Factor”

 

Seventeen gorgeous Baby Puppies took part in the puppy walk-

Our impeccably turned out Judge Christine Marshall (Strathgarten) took on her first ever judging appointment.

Baby Puppy Walk Winner was Dawn Inett’s Star.
