Midland C.T.C. Cairn Day 2010
25th
September 2010
Held
at Shirland Village Hall, Alfreton, Derbyshire.
MCTC Cairn Day 2010 was again a resounding success. A
good mixture of Pet and show Cairns and owners were in attendance.
|
The day started with Julie Petts, Maud Hawkes, Alison Wragg & Dawn Innet giving trimming advice and answering
questions for both pet and show Cairn owners. (As you can see, some Cairns were more
happy about being trimmed than others!) |

Chris Roberts & helpers
were there with the CTRF stall |
This was followed
by
Monica
& Brenda’s Fun Classes.
This year Monica was the main judge.
After last years cheating and a
couple of sending offs, Brenda started the programme with a little pep talk re-
the do’s and don’ts.
I.e.; No pushing, pulling or bribing
of judges !
This seemed to work, and fair play
was then seen in all classes.
Class one –
Musical Mats
This class should be called “whistle
mats” as we now realize that the only thing to be heard over all that happy barking
Is a very loud whistle!

|
(No that isn’t a curly coated
Cairn, it’s Dawns Patterdale!) |

Hughes. |

Class Three Temptation
Alley Owners had to guide their Cairn through an alley of Temptations = Plates of Babs Burgin’s Liver Cake – Cuddly
toys, a duck on wheels, biccies, a squeaky pheasant & lots of fluffy
toys. |
The final Winner Of
Temptation Alley was Chase with Mum Karen Allrbright. |
Class 4 Prettiest Bitch was Carol Pears’
lovely Callie |

Class 5 – Best Sausage
Catcher Monica again took on the task of throwing sausages in the direction of
the Cairns! This year we had a few who weren’t as “keen” as usual, but after dummy
run they got the hang of it. The one left standing was Tony Byrnes’ Tonka. |
