Our Judge Mr Anthony Osborn

It all started in the 1980’s when Angela and I bought our first Cairn, Amy. It wasn’t long before we attended our first dog show and caught the bug. During a number of years we made friends who gave us a lot of advice and help about showing Cairns. In particular, we obtained two bitches, a Davmar and a Glenbrae, with which we had some success in the show ring. We consider these two dogs to be our foundation bitches to the Tweslam clan. We have made up four home bred champions and earned numerous studbook numbers.

I decided to enter the judging arena and started judging the breed at Open show level. As time passed I gained experience. I also attended all the courses necessary to progress to the higher level and clocked up the necessary number of dogs judged to qualify for promotion. Twenty years on I have now judged many Championship Shows in the UK and some on the continent.

So now I am delighted to be invited to judge the 2023 Midland Cairn Terrier Club Show. I am looking forward to my day in the ring and hope to find some excellent examples of the breed. I like to concentrate on movement and find, if a dog moves well, then it is well constructed.
