Our
Judge; Darren Pearson (Winoski) My
grandfather bought me a WHWT in 1990 as he wanted us both to have a dog to
walk. Before long we were encouraged to show by local enthusiasts and at the
age of 9 I started Junior Handling. Dogs have
always been part of my life and always will be. I started judging in 2010 and
am currently approved to award tickets in 3 terrier breeds. I also judge
breeds in the utility, hound and pastoral groups. I am the
Secretary for the Northern Cairn and West Highland White Terrier Club, and
also The Northern Dog Club. My involvement with Cairns has been through
almost being brought up with them, attending the 'Cairn & Westie' since
the age of 9, watching and learning about the dogs, and also collecting
conkers in Hurworth. I remain
involved in westies and may occasionally show one
if my mother permits, I now show my own troop of Cesky Terriers. I am
honoured to come and judge your show, and look forward to the day.

Our Judge; Alison Saich (Lindcoly) I have
been so lucky to have been born and raised with Cairn Terriers, having parents
who were already established showing and breeding them. The knowledge I have
learnt from growing up around them as well as old breeders of the past is
something I feel privileged to have had. I was gifted
my very own Cairn in 1989 at 5 years of age, some of my lines I show today go
all the way back to her. I enjoy showing my Cairns as long as they enjoy it
too, I did dabble in a little agility with them many moons ago too. As well as
Cairns I have also been lucky enough to grow up with other breeds too,
learning about them, showing, breeding and of course learning from many other
experienced exhibitors/breeders in those breeds too and I eventually ventured
in to a new breed myself as well. I didn't start judging until later in my life as wanted
to get experience first and of course life does get in the way sometimes,
especially recently as I've had my own litter having twins boys, so not
showing quite as much as I'd like but will hopefully get them showing as they
get older too. I am looking
forward to my judging appointment and thank the Midland Cairn Terrier Club
for inviting me.
