Judge; Rev Gwynne Wright (Glenmont) I got my first
cairn in 1984. He was to be a pet but
life turned out otherwise. With
wonderful and generous mentors, I made him up as an American champion as well
as achieving obedience titles. In
researching his pedigree, I learned about English Cairns and eventually met a
certain David Wright (Ljekarna). As life unfolded, we eventually
married. Together we bred and
successfully showed several American champions. We’d often enjoy attending dog shows here
when we were visiting family. I
have judged several Sweepstakes and Match shows in the US. (That would be roughly equivalent to
judging Open shows in the UK.) When
I retired in 2014, I moved to England with two of my cairns. I’ve continued my love of the breed and am
grateful for their companionship especially in this lockdown. I
have been a member of the Midland Cairn Terrier Club since 1994 and joined
the committee in 2017. I am also a member of the Cairn Terrier Club of
America and the Cairn Terrier Club. I am also on the committee for Cairn
Terrier Relief Fund and York City Dog Training Club. I’m very much looking forward to being able
to be out again with my dogs. It
will be a privilege to judge MCTC’s open show in October. I am very much looking forward particularly
after it has needed to be reschedule. It will be wonderful to see your dogs and
meet up with friends.

Judge; Bob Blackley (Vaevictus) I have been showing dogs since 1985, I started with a Staffordshire
Bull Terrier, but I was interested in all terriers. My judging career started in 1989 with Staffords, but with my interest in other terriers I
progressed to judging other breeds. I first judged Cairn Terriers in 2004 and
passed the breed specific seminar in 2016. I first awarded CC’s in Staffords
in 1998, and I judged Stafford
bitches at Crufts in 2017. I judged my first Terrier Group in 2017,
and I am now passed by the KC to award CC's in 21 of the Terrier Breeds and
awaiting KC confirmation on another. I have studied all the terriers, and have
taken Breed Specific Seminars with Assessment on all of the terrier breeds
with the exception of one, and have also taken and passed all the KC required
seminars although I wasn’t required to, and am now a Policy Judge as well. I have been active on the committees of 5
different Breed Clubs, and currently 2 Breed Clubs and a Sporting Terrier
Club, plus a General Championship Show committee, and pride myself in putting
as much as I can back into dog shows as I take out in my enjoyment in dogs. I wish to thank the club for inviting me to
judge this prestigious show, and will give an honest opinion.
