BOB in the Group

(Pulled out in the first cut)

I enjoyed my day and thank all exhibitors for the entry.  It is some 4 years since I last judged in this country,  I found that construction is better overall but I am concerned that we are getting some bigger, coarser Cairns.  Eye shape also is a worry, a Cairn’s eye should not be round, if it is it gives the wrong expression.  The baby bitch and Junior classes showed some lovely youngsters coming through and this can only be good for the breed.

Minor Puppy Dog  (5, 2 absent)
1st: :     STEPHINSON'S TWOHOOTS ALLSAINTS ARTHUR

Bright red, clean cut outline. Soundly constructed, excels in neck and shoulders.  Attractive head. Tight harsh coat, in good condition. Moved well for one so young.
2nd: : SHORT'S GLENCHESS TAILOR MADE

Cream with those typical dark points.  Nice size, level topline, in good condition, moved and  showed OK.  Preferred head of winner.
3rd: : TUTCHINGS' CROWNEAST MR FROSTY

Smaller type than first two but nevertheless balanced and sound.  Full coat, a happy showman.  Will need time to mature and develop.

Puppy Dog (3, 1 absent)
1st: : THOMPSON'S CASTLELINE PRINCE HARRY

Cream, in full coat, well presented.  Up to size for age but sound throughout.  He has a really harsh coat and I know from experience that it is difficult to keep head furnishings with this type of coat.  More furnishings would, however, have completed the picture.  Moved OK.

2nd: : WEEDALL'S CLAIREVONA ACROBAT SON.

A nice puppy, dark brindle and so well balanced.  A really attractive head but masculine with it.  Level topline, straight front.  Should do better when he gets his adult coat.

Junior Dog (8, 0 absent)
1st: : BRAYBROOK'S CLOVERBROOK LOADED DICE (RDCC)

Silver brindle in really full coat.  Correct size for me and his really outstanding features have got to be his head, expression and his showmanship.  He has the correct front and shoulders and is so typy and masculine.  He stands well, four square, and looks a picture,  Moved with animation. Pressed really hard for CC.

2nd: : SMEE'S OUDENARDE I'M ALRIGHT JACK

I liked this one a lot, he is so strong and well made but a handful!  He presented a lovely outline and did not disappoint on the table.  Just a little less mature than winner and could do with a  few more head furnishings.
3rd: : PARKER-TUCKER'S UNIQUECOTTAGE RUSTY LEAF

Cream whose outline was really pleasing.  Balanced and of correct size.  Lovely flow of neck and level topline.  Moved and showed well, just in need of a fuller jacket today.

Res:     WAITES’ SEVEEK COUNTRY RAMBLER AT SVENDALENS

Vhc;     BERRECLOTH’S SYBSTER SOPHORA

Novice Dog (1, 0 absent)
1st: : WAITES' SEVEEK COUNTRY RAMBLER AT SVENDALENS

Sound and smart male, up to size.  He was in excellent coat and condition.  Head would be improved with more furnishings.  Moved OK

Post Graduate Dog (10, 0 absent)
1st: : ROBERTS' CANNWOOD AUGUREY

One I have seen from the ringside and liked and I was pleased to find that he did not disappoint on examination.  Nothing overdone, sound throughout.  Smart cream with that expression I like, cheeky but not feminine in any way.  He has adequate length of neck and clean shoulders, kept his topline on the move.  Good mouth.  Presented well and moved and showed fine.

 2nd: : CADOGAN'S DOGAN JAMESY COTTER

Another one I have admired before.  He is so really strong and without any shadow of a doubt a male!  He has a lovely strong head.  He was presented in such a way that showed off his outline but still left him with a full coat, the way it should be.  Sound, moved with drive.  Preferred length of back of winner.
3rd: : WEINBERGER'S CORRENIE ALTISSIMO

Nice type,  well presented, lovely head & expression.  Excels in topline which he kept on the move but he seemed a bit fed up today.  Moved OK

4th:        MEARS’ GLENMEAR MALFOY

VHC;    BIRCH’S KINKIM WATTLUQ

Limit Dog (5, 0 absent)
1st: : WEST'S KINKIM DEVONSLUDY THREE WITH JUNETTA

Very sound dark brindle in lovely coat of correct texture.  Masculine head, clean neck and shoulders.  Excellent mouth. Well muscled rear end.  Moved well both ways.  Didn’t put a foot wrong when showing.  Nothing not to like about him today.
2nd: : CONFUE'S ANJOFRA GOLF PAPA LIMA

Ultra smart cream, very well presented.  Correct size, well balanced.  Lovely head, neck and shoulders, moved and showed well.
3rd: : STEPHINSON'S TWOHOOTS ADVENT OBERON

Cream with a most beautiful harsh jacket.  His head is very attractive but you know he’s a male.  He is sound throughout and strode out well but seemed to lose interest when showing.  3 nice males here.

VHC; KEEVES & BENNETT’S VANAJAM AMULET WITH MAXIVEEK

Open Dog (4, 0 Absent)
1st: : CAMERON'S CH STRYVELING IVANHOE (DCC)

Dark brindle of sturdy construction.  His head is strong but what I really liked about him was his lovely neck flowing into clean shoulders, not heavy in any way and a pleasure to go over.  Good spring of rib and length of back. He covered the ground easily and moved soundly. In excellent coat and condition and well presented.  Steady showman.
2nd: : BIRCH'S KINKIM KENZA RUFFN TOO

A stylish showy exhibit, a shade smaller overall than winner but of quality construction.  Lovely topline & tailset.  Another steady showman.
3rd: : THOMPSON'S CASTLELINE STAR TROOPER

Workmanlike best describes this male.  Harsh coated brindle, presented a lovely outline.  Very strong and well made, moved true and showed well.

Res; PEERS’ TWEEDISLE CROWN JEWEL

Minor Puppy Bitch (11, 1 Absent)  Strong class with some exciting prospects
1st: : PARKER-TUCKER'S UNIQUECOTTAGE DARK SECRET naf

A cheeky little monkey, this one, whose head and expression said it all.  Dark brindle, lovely balance, clean neck and shoulders.  Good topline and tailset, moved well for a baby. Very much a puppy yet but pressed hard for Best Puppy.
2nd: : OWEN'S CALDWALL CORDELIA

Another really nice pup, cream of nice type, nicely balanced.  Feminine head with typical expression, very smart pup who moved very true both front and back.  Liked her a lot.
3rd: : STEPHINSON'S TWOHOOTS ALLSAINTS CECELIA

Rangier red, has the shape which should develop with no heaviness at all.  Good coat, short at present of course but of the correct texture.  Lovely to go over on the table,  I particularly liked her feminine head and her clean outline.  Moved well in front.

Puppy Bitch (5, 2 absent)
1st: : POLLOCK'S STANEDYKES DIVA

Have admired this pup and was pleased to have the opportunity to go over her and she did not disappoint me.  She is the type I like, just filled my eye.  Typical head & expression.  In very full coat but did not detract from her balanced outline.  She moved true both front and back.  Showed so well for one so young.  Best Puppy.
2nd: : MEARS' STANEDYKES TOSCA

Another nice one of similar type to winner.  A pleasing head, soundly made, moved well but I thought winner had a better jacket on the day.

3rd: : MORRIS' TWEEDISLE EXCLUSIVE JEWEL OF BRONCHERWYN

Cream, well balanced, happy showgirl.  In need of more hair on her legs.

Junior Bitch (10, 1 absent)
1st: : TEMPLETON'S LARCHLEA LOOKS LIKE HEAVEN.  BCC & BOB

Extrovert is the description for this bitch!  Nice type, well balanced dark brindle with a gorgeous head.  Correct construction, hard to fault.  She is full of life but moved soundly both ways.  Fits the standard well in all ways particularly in size and temperament.  In the large Terrier Group she never stopped wagging her tail, a credit to the Breed.  Made the cut.
2nd: : SMEE'S OUDENARDE BELLE AMOUR

Naughty but nice!  Similar in type to winner but perhaps a shade bigger all over.  Very, very strong but so feminine.  Lovely expressive head.  Good bone and spring of rib, moved soundly both ways.  Perky showgirl.
3rd: : SHORT'S GLENCHESS SUGAR MOUSE

This smart, stylish red bitch has a lovely outline, reach of neck and layback of shoulder. She showed like a veteran and moved freely. Well presented.

These were 3 lovely bitches

Res;     CONFUE’S ANJOFRA NUTTY TART

VHC;    WEEDALL’S CLAIREVONA VICTORIAN ICE

Novice Bitch  (3, 0 Absent)
1st: : DOLAN'S GLENROOD DREAM PIPIT

Stylish cream, very well presented in good coat and condition.  Really feminine head, straight front, level topline, nice bend of stifle.  Nice size.  Moved and showed well.
2nd: : GRAINGER'S OUDENARDE BUFFY'S ANGEL

A clean outline to this typy brindle.  A really lovely showgirl who just places herself to her best advantage.  Lovely to go over on the table.  Her best features are her head and expression and her topline never moved when she walked.  Felt she needed a little more body/coat to get the perfect balance but she has plenty of time on her side.
3rd: : KEEVES & BENNETT'S SEVEEK ONE MOMENT IN TIME WITH MAXIVEEK

At a disadvantage in this class as she is still a puppy and the 2 placed above her were older and obviously more mature.  She is balanced and in her full coat.  Very feminine with a typy head.  Moved soundly.

Post Graduate Bitch (12, 4 absent)
1st: : WEAVER'S COPSELEAZE LITTLE GEM

The best mover in this class.  Light grey with a lovely head and expression.  She presents a lovely outline and is a very typy bitch.  Sound and balanced.  In excellent coat and condition.  A good win.
2nd: : MOSELEY'S SPAWYCHE ELIZABETHAN PEARL

Stylish cream who never packed up showing.  Excels in head and neck.  Level topline.  Good spring of rib.  Preferred movement of winner.
3rd: : HOOTON'S PENTICHARM BURNING DESIRE

A really harsh, tight coated red with a level topline and nice length of back.  A little loose in front action today but nevertheless a smart bitch who was really showing and because this she beat;  .

Res;     TURNBULL’S TRIBANNON DESTINY OF BEDRULE

VHC;    DOLAN’S GLENROOD MAGIC BERRY

Limit Bitch  (6, 1 Absent)  A disappointing class for a Limit class
1st: : WEINBERGER'S CORRENIE KEEP MY SECRET

Typical and stylish, presented well.  In good coat of correct texture.  Nice size.  Level topline and correct bend of stifle. Good tailset.  Showed with animation and moved soundly.
2nd: : OWEN'S CALDWALL CHELSEY

Cream, just not quite enough of her.  Sound in all departments though and scored in movement over
3rd: : KINTON'S WOODTHORPE JUST THE GIRL

Another cream in good coat and condition.  Lovely head, accomplished showgirl.

Res; KEEVES’ SEVEEK CHERRYS N’ DREAMS

VHC; O’KANE’S KEYBROUGH PRETTY WOMAN

Open Bitch (6, 1 absent)
1st: : DOLAN'S ROSSARDEN GLENMOIRA (RCC)

Dark grey, showed very well indeed, another one who has that natural show stance, bred in.  Typical head and expression.  Nice length of neck, good hind action.  A strong yet feminine bitch.
2nd: : HOOTON'S CH PENTICHARM CELTIC PRINCESS

Well presented stylish light red with typical dark points.  Clean cut outline with a lovely head & expression, level topline. Good bend of stifle.  Being a typical Cairn today and giving her handler a hard time.
3rd: : PHILLIPS' SARACHELLE JUST DAISY AT JAEVA

Very showy dark brindle, a typical Cairn of lovely type.  Beautiful head & expression, level topline, nice length of neck.  Strong bone.  Another with a lovely outline standing.
