BIRMINGHAM DOG SHOW SOCIETY

CAIRN TERRIERS

8th May 2004

Thank you for a super entry. I had some lovely Cairns to go  over, in some of the bitch classes, I could have done with more than 1 red card , making for some very tough decisions.

MPD.(10,1abs)

1; Roberts', Cannwood As If By Magic, 6 1/2 mth, light red Br,nice headpiece, lovely eye and expression, good shoulder and forearm, topline and tailset good, in lovely coat and condition.Moved out well, but a shade close behind and showed with confidence, lovely puppy. BP.

2; Braybrooks', Cloverbrook Wild Card, 6 1/2 mth dark grey Br, another smart and well developed puppy, has a beautiful head & eye, would prefer a slightly smaller ear, is well made throughout, again in lovely coat and condition and moved with real drive, not showing with the confidence of 1st.

3; Firth and Jones', Cairngold Coeur De Leon.

PD.(7,2abs)

1; Ehrenbergs, Carradine Master Tigger 11mth, good headed wheaten Br, nice size and shape, a nice dog to go over, with good angulations both ends, firm topline held on the move, moved out  well , just needs to pull himself together showing wise.

2; Poiles, Kedvaiy Troika, almost 12 mths, clear red, short of coat and head furnishings, which made him look plain, but is a very nice dog to go over,is a good size, excels in front, good ribbing and nice tight feet. Very sound on the move, a close decision.

3; Camerons,Stryveling Young Lochinvar.

JD.(4)

1. Leese's, Cloverbrook Silver Rebel, very mature and masculine silver Br, all male with no coarseness, loved his head and expression, beautiful eye shape and colour, has a good straight front and well laid shoulder, moved out well, holding his topline on the move, in good coat, showed well enough to win class.

2. Parker Tuckers, Uniquecottage Chipmunk, light wheaten Br, lovely make and shape, looked a shade stuffy in neck but that was just coat, coat not at its best, preferred head and expression of 1st.

3; Goldfinchs, Kanawha Itsmyturnnow.

PGD.(9,3abs)

1. Crosbys, Tolimaura Chace, good headed, light wheaten Br, loved his expression, lovely neck and shoulders, well angulated both ends, moved with style and drive, on his toes all the time. Would prefer him a shade bigger.

2; Thompsons, Castleline Prince Harry, nicely made light grey Br, is well put together, which shows in his movement. Has a nice head  but preferred the expression of 1st, in good coat and condition. Gives his handler a hard time showing wise!

3; Waites, SeveekCountry Rambler at Svendalens.

LD.(4,1abs)

1; Weinbergers, Correnie Altissimo, red Br. Dog I have always liked, has a truely masculine head, with intense expression, lovely neck and best of shoulders and is well put together throughout, which shows in his true movement, in lovely coat and condition. Shows well for his handler but would like more animation. RCC

2; Roberts', Cannwood Augrey, clear wheaten, in A1 condition, very masculine and again is very well put together, this showed in his free and effortless movement, on his toes all the time, very close decision.

3; Kintons, Woodthorpe Just Bedazzled.

OD.(5) Lovely class to judge , I'm sure my first 3 could change places at any time;

1; Hoopers, American CH. Birselaw Super  Trooper, grey Br, a lovely size, with a true cairn head and expression. Had one of best fronts and forearm of the day and well angulated rear quarters too and has the movement to prove it, in superb coat and condition, well handled and presented, to win a hard class and his 3rd and qualifying CC.

2; Walls, Shearwater Cae De Shonas, well known  dark red Br, has a good head and expression, presents a lovely outline, as always in first class coat and condition, shows  with confidence but today couldn’t match front movement of class winner

3; Braybrooks Cloverbrook Loaded Dice, another quality male and  worthy Champion.

MPB.(12,3abs)

1;Moseleys, Spawyche Elizabethan Ruby, very eyecatching and feminine 7mth wheaten BR, presented a  lovely outline and good size for age, lovely expression, nice full harsh jacket and moved out well, very promising.

2; Harrison & Formosa's, Curtisey Foreign Affair at Carradine, 8mth clear wheaten, well developed for age, very feminine and good angulations front and back, coat & condition A1, moved soundly and with drive, not showing as well as 1.

3; Roberts', Cannwood Catcha Fallin' Star

PB.(9,4abs)Not a strong class,

1; Longdins, Wellingley What May,10 mth cream, good head with intense expression,  nice for size and shape, coat just coming in but what's there is of good texture, good rib and topline. Moved out well and showed all out, bit proud of her tail though!

2; Browns, Bencana Royal Sovereign, 8 mth, light grey Br. well grown for age,  feminine bitch, good outline, topline and tailset, not as good in front as 1st.

3; Smiths, Rocasovale All That Jazz.

JB.(16,3abs)

1; Catto’s , Birselaw Special Moment, clear wheaten, as you expect from this kennel, she has a lovely feminine head with a true cairn expression and is shown in a good full coat. A very well balanced bitch, with good front and shoulder and is well made throughout, which showed in her sound movement, a confident shower, she did flag in the challenge, which cost her the CC, a lovely bitch, RCC.

2; Parker Tuckers, Uniquecottage Glengettie, another smart and eye catching red Br. has a lovely head, with nice dark well shaped eye,a lovely bitch to go over, very well put together, her movement confirms this, again shown in a good coat and condition, unlucky to meet 1st but still a close decision.

3; Shoplands,  Cherrycrack Chasing Aimee.

PGB.(11,3abs)

1; Hughes', Spawyche Dawn Chorus at Gyncairn, beautiful headed, light grey Br. lovely expression and just right for size, well proportioned throughout, with good front and rear angulations, allowing her to move out with drive and style, coat not at its best but is of correct texture, a very eyecatching bitch.

2; Shorts, Glenchess Silver Lining, another light grey Br. similar to 1st in make and shape but would prefer a slightly darker eye. Coat in good order and again a sound mover. A nice bitch.

3; Buttress', Carradine Miss Embers

LB.(13,2abs)1; Shaws, Honeyhall Hijinx, light wheaten Br, a bitch I have always liked and wasn't disappointed on going over her, very well balanced, with a truely feminine head and expression, a lovely neck and topline, she  excels in front and shoulder, very sound moving , a confident showgirl. Was pushed hard in the challenge by the JB, but was pleased to award her the CC, her 3rd and BOB. 2; Hootons, Penticharm Burning Desire, dark red Br. a bigger made bitch than 1st  but still feminine. Is sound and well made, has a quality coat and as usual is shown and presented to her advantage by her handler. Very sound on the move, unlucky to meet 1st. 3; Moseleys, Spawyche Elizabethan Pearl.

OB.(8)

1; Firth & Jones', CH. Cairngold Charcoal, feminine dark red Br. liked her as a youngster and she has fulfilled her promise, very well balanced and a nice size bitch, with a super expression, good front and topline, well angulated behind, very free moving, a real showgirl, coat and condition spot on. A very smart bitch.

2; Dolans, Glenrood Forever Beauty, clear wheaten,  has a nicely made feminine head and expression, is just right for size, presents a good outline and  is a very nice bitch to go over, as always presented in A1 coat and condition, another sound moving bitch and another close decision.

3; Fyfes, Andrum Lady Penelope.
