Minor Puppy Dog (0)

Puppy Dog (2, 0a)

  1. Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Play The Game, wheaten with nice dark mask & points, good mouth, clean outline with a lovely level top line, correct tail set, moved with drive – true front & rear, presented well, showed like a veteran. Best Puppy
  2. Jeffrey’s Sandaig Shearer, wheaten brindle, not as well behaved as 1. Good mouth, correct bite. A quality puppy with good bone. Moved well but not the tail carriage of the winner.

Junior Dog (1)

  1. Cameron’s Stryveling Crackerjack, stunning head on this red brindle youngster.  Dark ears & mask.  Nice big teeth with correct bite.  Clean shoulders and correct length of back, good tail set.  Moved well front and rear.  In short coat of the right texture, presented well, one to watch for the future.

Yearling Dog (1)

  1. Middlehurst’s Cannwood As If By Magic to Starveren, brindle with beautiful head and expression.  Correct shaped eye of right colour, Good length of neck descending into clean shoulders.  Good length of back, tail set spot on. Profuse coat, but still looked smart. The size I look for in a Cairn.  Couldn’t fault his movement, he showed very well indeed. He has a lovely happy temperament. He meets the breed standard in all departments. DCC & BOB.  I was pleased to see him perform well in the Group, he made the cut.

Post Graduate Dog (3, 0a)

  1. Chambers & Thomas’ Cairngrove Red Rascal, well balanced red, moved well when settled.  Attractive masculine head, good eye and correct mouth.  Coat in good condition, level topline & correct tail set. Nice type, good, honest dog.
  2. Smiths’ Rocasovale Good Luck Charm, dark brindle, up to size.  Nice flow of neck, good length of back, correct tail set.  Profuse coat, presented well.  Preferred head of winner.
  3. Latto’s Pinetop Postscript

Limit Dog (3, 0a)

  1. Evans’ Birselaw Billy The Kid of Kapplegill, dark brindle in short coat, good mouth, nice eye and expression.  Attractive dark points, good length of neck into correct shoulders and pleasing length of back.  Good tailset, showed well.
  2. Berrecloth’s Sybster Sping Time, dark brindle, pleasing masculine, well furnished head, good mouth.  Well balanced, very typical of the breed.  A very hard decision between 1 & 2.
  3. Harrison & Inett’s Hyde Castle Flic Flac for Carradine (Imp)

Open Dog (3, 0a)

  1. Short’s Glenchess Black Tie, wheaten, good mouth, correct ear set, nice flow of neck into clean shoulders.  Length of back I like, good tail set.  Alert showman who moved effortlessly around the ring and presented a pleasing picture overall.  RCC.  A close contender for the CC but I preferred the head and expression of the CC winner.  This dog is worthy of CH in front of his name.
  2. Dean’s Honeyhall Hawick of Orior, upstanding male, brindle with dark mask and ears, very appealing expression, good length of leg and correct length of back.  Moved steadily in both directions.  Coat was rather sparse on legs but of good texture. Very promising for the future.
  3. Templeton’s Larchlea If Look Could Kill

Minor Puppy Bitch (2, 0a)

  1. Shaw’s Honeyhall Head Over Heels, smart and showy cream puppy, good mouth and feminine head.  In good coat and condition, moved very well for one so young, very animated.  Tail set bang on.  Nice outline.  An exciting prospect for this kennel.
  2. Richardson’s Skye Keely, red brindle with a lovely dark mask. Well balanced, in good coat but lacking confidence on the day.

Puppy Bitch (8, 3a)

  1. Bambridge’s Carradine Crème Brulee for Luvemal, copper brindle with a lovely cheeky, Cairny expression.  In good coat, nice length of neck flowing into clean shoulders and a good tail set.  She showed steadily and moved very well in front.  A very promising puppy.
  2. Marshall’s Kenmilfore Lady Marmalade, light red, not in such good coat condition as the winner but a puppy of nice type and well balanced.  Pleasing head and expression, good mouth.  Nice length of back & good tail set, moved well.
  3. Cattos’ Birselaw American Dream

Junior Bitch (4, 0a)

  1. Butterfield’s Camasmor Credence, wheaten bitch, sound of nice type.  Feminine head and expression, correct size.  Moved straight in front and with drive from the rear.  Coat not at its best today.
  2. Hodgkins’ Birselaw Supastar via Russcot, dark brindle in profuse coat.  Pleasing head & expression, good length of back but did not show as well as the winner.
  3. Watt’s Birselaw Starlet to Jancairn

Yearling Bitch (2, 0a)

  1. Catto’s Birselaw It’s My Moment, wheaten bitch with pleasing head & expression, mouth fine, clean lines, nice flow of neck, level topline and correct tail set.  Profuse coat but tidy.  Moved OK. More finished than 2.
  2. Sharp & Petts’ Cannwood Kasta Spell, quality bitch, lovely feminine head with Cairny expression.  Straight front and level topline.  Moved true both ways, just needs a little more time to fully mature. Two lovely bitches who I am sure have an exciting future.

Post Graduate Bitch (9, 1a)

  1. Cameron’s Stryveling Meg Merilees, red brindle of correct size, lovely head & expression with attractive dark points, correct length of back, very feminine.  In excellent coat.  Moved correctly.
  2. Roberts’ Cannwood Catcha Fallin Star, light red, very appealing, good mouth, nice dark eye.  Pleasing head & expression, level topline and she moved very well.  Just thought that she was a little more compact overall than the winner.
  3. Watts’ Sarachelle Billie Holliday

Limit Bitch (6, 1 a)

  1. Jeffrey’s Sandaig Suilean Dubh, dark brindle with a fantastic head, nice eye, correct mouth.  Nice size, well balanced & in brilliant coat, not over presented.  Moved well behind.
  2. Catto’s Birselaw Special Moment, wheaten brindle with a clean outline, excellent length of neck & back, clean shoulders, preferred head of winner.  Moved OK.
  3. Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Cute n Clever

Open Bitch (6, 1a)

A lovely quality class with some top class exhibits, this class really made me stop and think!

  1. Templeton’s Larchlea Let Me Entertain U, dark brindle bitch, good mouth, lovely reach of neck and her shoulders were of the correct placement and clean.  Level topline, tail bang on top, coat in good condition.  Movement was true front and back, a joy to behold. CC
  2. Middlehurst’s Starveren Chance to Dream, lighter brindle than 1 with a hint of red.  Wonderful bitchy head with a dark mask, very feminine, good mouth.  Clean shoulders and the topline is still capable of having a spirit level run over it.  Tail set correct.  Movement on the day was A1. CC material if ever I saw it.
  3. Pollock’s Ch Stanedykes Diva.
