Richmond Championship Show      8/9/07

 

Cairn Terriers.

 

Having being involved with the breed for the past 44 yrs  I have seen many changes in type , presentation and size.

 

Today although under cover, the grass was quite wet and the previous days exhibits had left their scent, causing some exhibits to follow their nose making it difficult to evaluate their movement.

 

My concerns about the breed are weak fronts ,which I found on examination on the table and made obvious when leg hair was damp.

Poor feet with sloping pasterns and please do watch nails some were long and need attention.

 

I was very pleased with my main winners .

 

Dog CC  PENTICHARM PARTY KNIGHT. wheaten lovely masculine head and expression has  ample width of skull between small ears good stop and strong jaw nice length of neck which showed his lovely head carriage correct angulation of upper arm to shoulder, very good legs and feet, level top line and correct tail set moved and showed  very well  .B.O.B  was in the last 8 in the group.

RCC  PENTICHARM PRINCE CHARMING  Quality dog similar to one, just preferred head and expression of Dog CC  and will change places I’m sure. RCC

 Bitch CC CAIRNGOLD CEDAR  Extrovert Dark Brindle nice size  with a lovely feminine head and expression good forehand and depth of brisket level top line and set on , showed and moved well . CC

 

RBCC. PENTICHARM TIME TO PARTY  Quality Bitch lovely head and ears nice lay of shoulder ,  good top line , quarters , moved and showed well close decision to 1.

 

BP CAIRNGOLD AVIN A PADDY.  Daughter of BCC winner lovely head, ears and expression  level top line in good coat moved & showed well maturing nicely

1/Kippen Mr D. & Mrs A.C CHEZAKU MASTER MARINER 7yrs

Nice head good mouth in good condition moved and showed well

2/Woodward  Mrs C.A  ANJOFRA DESERT TROUPER   Light red of 7rs similar remarks to one just preferred head of one

      

Minor Puppy Dog (2)

1/Waugh Mrs A.  TRIBANNON TIP TOP  7Months wheaten dark eye  very nice head small ears  in profuse coat  moved very well will improve all round with maturity.

2/Peers Mr& Mrs G.S.&LE  TWEEDSISLE GUY MANNERING Grey of 8 mths with a  good of bend of stifle  a bigger frame all round than one needs to tighten in front action which may come with maturity.

 

Puppy Dog (1)

1/ Kippen. Mr D.J. &Mrs A. C . CHEZUKA SUBMARINER  Nearly out of puppy  at the  awkward gangly stage  has quality new coat coming through, nice bone legs and feet .

   

Junior Dog. (5)

1/Smee Mrs  .A  MALMAY KING OF THE ROAD Quality youngster handled well on the table very good head and mouth nice length of neck into well laid shoulders straight front  level top line  and tail set looked well in profile not in full coat as yet.

2/ Waugh Mrs A. TRIBANNON WARLORD  Red Brindle extrovert dog  lovely head  and expression nice legs and feet in very good coat  giving handler hard time possibly due to the smells of the day before.

3/ Smith Mrs J.  RASCOVALE RAZZLE DAZZLE.

1/Liffton Mr M.A.& Mrs C.GLENROOD STORMKEEPER AT LIFFYCAIRN  SH .CM  Red B Good head mouth and ears  nice shoulders  well balanced  good mover  in between coats

2/Hawkins Mrs M.E & Mr J.A .KILNYARD ARCHIE SPANGLES wheaten nice out line  just preferred head of I

1/Poile Mrs J. KEDVAIY  HAPPY FEET  Smart  young bitch lovely head and eye & ears, correct bite nice teeth good head carriage on nice neck and shoulders, legs& feet, today lacked furnishings and coat which are coming through hope she does not grow any more, moved and showed well

2/Peers Mr&MrsG S&Miss L.E  TWEEDISLE DOLLY DAY DREAM  wheaten brindle lovely feminine head, in better coat than one, not as mature in showmanship or as positive in rear movement as 1 at this time.

3/Confue Mrs C A & Miss S F ANJOFRA ME ME ME

1/ Smee. Mrs A. MALMAY SKY’S THE LIMIT    Litter sister to junior dog ,   looked well in profile  good reach of neck into nice lay of shoulder straight front  very good top line and tail set moved and showed well.

2/ Thompson Mrs E  CASTLELINE BONNIE  Just out of puppy   wheaten with a feminine head medium length of back good top line straight front in correct coat  showed ok

3/Dolan Mrs S.E. GLENROOD FOREVER TOPPS.

 1/Dolan Mrs S.E.  GLENROOD BLACK DIAMOND   Quality Red Brindle lovely head and small well placed ears good stop well laid shoulders nicely balanced  through out lovely outline  moved and showed well

2/ Thompson Mrs E. CASTLELINE TIGER LILY  Wheaten nicely balanced head  nice reach of neck  good bone legs and feet level top line & tail set good bend of stifle  moved ok

2/Shannon Miss B M & Storr Mr D& Culliford Miss M  .BRENNDARCY BE BOP DELUXE  Wheaten with a pretty head and ears, nice neck & shoulders straight front in good coat showed well  but moved a little close at the back.
