Results for Cairn Terriers.

Many thanks to the SKC for inviting me to judge Cairn Terriers at CC level and sincere thanks to the Exhibitors for allowing me to handle their dogs and what is more – pass judgement.

Puppy Dog

1st Smiths ROCASOVALE RAZZLE DAZZLE, 9 month grey brindle in full thick coat, masculine in outline, obviously immature but moved well and was an enthusiastic showman.

2nd Saichs LINDCOLY DOUBLE EXPRESS, good coated wheaten with dark points, typical in outline, lighter in build than one, needs time.

3rd Smiths STRATHVIEW CONTRY SQIURE

Junior Dog

1st Cattos BIRSELAW DAYDREAM BELIEVER, I liked this wheaten dog as soon as he entered the ring, has style and presence, appealed in outline, loved his head & expression, correct body shape, good harsh coat & well presented, moved well with freedom & drive, showed with animation, given more time, I think he will trouble the best, RCC.

2nd Stephinsons TWOHOOTS BARNABAS, showy red dog with lots to like about him, good balance, free movement, presented in the right condition.

3rd Roberts CANNWOOD JUST REMEMBER

Yearling Dog

1ST Shannon & Storrs BRENNDARCY SPELLBINDER, Appealing wheaten, clean in outline, typical head & expression, correct coat.

Post Grad Dog

1ST Camerons STRYVELING ROBB RUADH, a red masculine dog, handles well, nice type, pleasing in head & expression, good outline, moved with drive once settled, harsh coat, presented in good form.

Limit Dog

1ST Hooton, Shorter & Nuttalls PENTICHARM PRINCE CHARMING, a well balanced wheaten brindle dog, lovely head & expression, good reach of neck & well placed shoulders, level topline & correct tailset, I like this dog very much but feel he needs more head furnishings & coat to complete the picture, & whilst his movement was free, he didn’t seem to like the surroundings & didn’t put all in, which lost him higher awards.

2nd Shoplands CHERRYCRACK MACK THE KNIFE, grey brindle dog with many admirable qualities, masculine in outline, coat of correct texture, typical in head & expression, moved with drive, showed well, a close decision but preferred the overall balance of the winner.

3rd Firth & Jones CAIRNGOLD JACKPOT

Open Dog

1ST Middlehurst CH CANNWOOD AS IF BY MAGIC TO STARVEREN, a dark brindle dog who looked a picture of health & condition, masculine without anyway being course, typical head & keen expression, good front, neck & shoulders, big spring of rib, level topline, strong quarters with correct tailset, moved freely & with purpose, well presented, he did all that was asked of him to win CC & BOB.

2nd Saichs HECTOR OF THE GLENN, I have judged the red dog before & have done him well, nice balance, outline & size, moved well with drive, good showman.

3rd Berrecloths CH SYBSTER SPRING TIME

Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Cattos BIRSELAW JUST A MOMENT, a most promising beautifully made wheaten, moved and showed well for one so young, good neck & shoulders, topline & tailset, in good coat & condition,I think another star in the making for the Birselaw kennel,  Best Puppy.

2nd Firth & Jones CAIRNGOLD AVIN A PADDY, dark brindle, ultra feminine, pleasing head & mischievous expression, appealing outline, correct coat, the winner was more positive on the move, but she is still very young.

3rd Mundays BIRSELAW FIREBIRD OF STRADIVARIUS

Puppy Bitch

1st Percys WINETTA A YOU’RE ADORABLE, appealing cream, attractive head & expression, good general outline, given more time should do well.

2nd Smiths ROCASOVALE ITS UP TO YOU, similar mould to her brother, lacked the steadiness of the winner.

3rd Smith STRATHVIEW COUNTRY GRACE

Junior Bitch

1st Shaws HONEYHALL HEADSTRONG, a classy dark red brindle, dark eye, well placed ears, good stop which gave the desired expression, pleasing overall in make & shape, moved freely & well handled.

2nd Waites SVENDALENS LUCKY IN LOVE, wheaten brindle with dark points, good make & shape, looked very much a youngster compared to one.

3rd Stephinsons TWOHOOTS AGNES

Yearling Bitch

1st Templetons LARCHLEA KNOT TO BE MIST, a feminine dark brindle presented in top form, typical in outline, coat of good texture, moved & showed well, an  interesting prospect for this exhibitor who seems to breed such a distinctive type.

2nd Bradshaws NEWFIELD HEATHER MAGIC, a red brindle bitch who was nice to go over & has lots to like about her, clean outline, pleasing in head & expression, harsh coat.

3rd Felters & Rumens LANDBUCK LEMONCELLO

Post Grad Bitch

1st Marshalls STRATHGARTEN KENMILFORE LADY MARMALADE, a very feminine red bitch, well balanced throughout, appealed in head & expression, moved & showed to advantage.

2nd Waites SEVEEK COUNTRY LOVER OF SVENDALENS, another one who showed well, moved freely, although the wheaten coat was of the correct texture, I feel it had gone past its best.

3rd Hodgkins SUPASTAR VIA RUSSCOT

Limit Bitch

1st Cattos BIRSELAW NOW IS THE MOMENT, a wheaten bitch of the highest quality, liked her true breed type & style, lovely feminine head & expression, balanced outline, beautifully made throughout, showed with animation, pleased to award her the CC.

2nd Felters & Rumens LANDBUCK HEIDI CLAIRE, a well constructed dark red brindle, different type to the winner, pleasing in overall make & shape, in good coat, moved free & with drive which was a pleasure to see, just lacked the overall stance of the winner but nevertheless pushed her very hard, RCC.

3rd Percys WINETTA WHOS THAT GIRL

Open Bitch

1st Hootons PENTICHARM TIME TO PARTY, I have judged this red brindle bitch before and like her very much indeed, teeming with quality, with many fine attributes, & typical of this kennel, for me on the day she needed more coat to give a better overall picture to compete against the CC & RCC winners.

2nd Hootons PENTICHARM CARIBBEAN QUEEN, a cream one, full of confidence, attractive head, scored in outline & balance, moved well with drive.

3rd Firth & Jones CAIRNGOLD CEDAR
