South Wales Kennel Association Championship Show

6th July 2007

Judge: Mrs Sue Braybrook

Sincere thanks to the officers and committee of the South Wales Kennel Association for all their hard work in making sure that the show went ahead despite of horrendous weather conditions.  Thank you also to all exhibitors for persevering under such difficult circumstances to reach the show.

Overall the quality of the entry was good.  I only found one or two incorrect mouths.  I was particularly pleased to be able to go over some outstanding youngsters, which bodes well for the future of the breed.

BCC and BOB   Mrs J.Poile's Kedvaiy Can Can.  A top quality eye catching bitch with a femine head and expression, good mouth and eye.  Neck flowing into correctly angulated shoulders, soundly constructed throughout and in excellent coat and condition.  Expertly presented with superb ring presence.  It was a pleasure to award her B.O.B.

RBCC   Mrs P.Clarke's Conundrum Sweeter for Me for Lentricia.  Dark brindle bitch with super head and expression.  Good reach of neck.  Nicely balanced throughout with good topline and tailset.  Shown in correct coat.  An outstanding show girl for one so young.  Delighted to award her the RCC

DCC   Miss B. and Mr D. Shannon and Storr's Brenndarcy Spellbinder.  Quality wheaten cairn with excellent conformation throughout.  Good head, mouth and eye.  In lovely coat and condition.  Covered the ground well.  Pleased to award him his first CC.

RDCC   Mr A. and Mrs L. and Miss A.M and Mrs G. Firth and Jones' Cairngold Jackpot.  Well presented wheaten with pleasing head and expression and good mouth.  Moved freely.  Showed well to earn the RDCC.

BP   Mrs S.E and Miss D.H Dolan and Inett's Glenrood Ice Man.  Wheaten dog with good head, expression and correct mouth.  In good coat and condition.  Moved with confidence.  Presented and handled very well.

Minor Puppy Dog (4,1)

1)  Mrs S.E and Miss D.H Dolan and Inett's Glenrood Ice Man.

2)  Mr and Mrs G.S Peers' Tweedisle Guy Mannering.   Lovely dark brindle puppy.  Well balanced and in excellent coat.  Just needs to settle on the move.

3)  Mrs S.M Tutching's Just Catch Paddy

Puppy Dog (1,0)

1) Mrs A. Smee's Malmay King Of The Road.  A very promising grey brindle puppy with good head and mouth.  Well balanced throughout.  A quality coat coming through.  Moved very soundly for his age.  Stood alone, but well deserved his first place.

Junior Dog (4,0)

1) Mr A.J and Mrs C. Stephinson's Twohoots Barnabas.  Typical head and expression.  In correct coat and condition.  Well balanced.  Pressed hard for the Reserve CC.

2) Mrs A. Waugh's Tribannon Warlord.  Grey brindle in good coat and condition.  Free mover.  Not as mature as 1).  Once settled, will be one to watch.

3) Misses K.J and J.L Barclay and Wingate's Bikachyx All In Leather

Minor Puppy Bitch (10,1)

An excellent class of puppies. I am sure that my first three placings will change places many times.

1)Mr A. and Mrs L. and Miss A. M and Mrs G. Firth and Jones' Cairngold  Avin A Paddy.  A grey brindle with attitude.  Feminine head with correct eye and mouth.  Shown in excellent coat.  Lovely outline.  handled and shown well.  Unfortunately she was frightened by the flapping tent in the challenge and had to be withdrawn.

2) Mrs V. Carter's Tarcret Lucy Locket.  A very promising baby of six months shown in a profuse puppy coat.  Good head, mouth, topline and tailset.  Well balanced throughout.  Moved very soundly for her age.

3) Mrs S. E. Dolan's Glenrood Forever Topps

Puppy Bitch (8,0)

1) Mrs A. Smee's Malmay The Sky's The Limit.  Litter sister to the winner of the puppy dog class.  Quality bitch with a very good head and expression.  Good mouth and eye.  Well balanced.  Good coat coming through. Was shown and presented very well.

2) Mrs S,.E Dolan's Glenrood Forever Popsy.  Another quality cream puppy.  Lovely head and expression, liked her length of neck.  Good topline and tailset.  Presented very well as always from this kennel.  These two bitches will change places many times.

3) Mrs J. Keeves' Seveek The Mystery Of Dreams.

Limit Bitch (6,0)

1) Mrs J. P. Poile's Kedvaiy Can Can.

Open Bitch (6,1)

1) Mr A. and Mr R.A Felter's and Rumen's Ch. Landbuck Heidi Claire.  A red brindle in lovely coat.  Nicely balanced throughout.  Typical head and expression.  Soundly made quarters.  Missed out on top honours due to lack of enthusiasm on the day.  However, a worthy champion.

2) Mr A. and Mrs L. and Miss A. M and Mrs G. Firth and Jones' Cairngold  Cedar.  Dark brindle with excellent head and expression.  Lovely type and soundly constructed with a correct coat.  Just carrying slightly too much weight on the day.
