YEARLING - Dog This was a difficult class all 3 dogs were good quality. Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 1st LARCHLEA LICENCE TO THRILL AT STANEDYKES (MR J POLLOCK) Red brindle dog with good head, nice dark eye and the correct expression. Very good front. At first I thought he was a little short on coat but on the table I found that it was very close and lying flat with a good undercoat, exactly how a Cairn’s coat should be. A good showman and mover I liked him very much. 2nd STRATHVIEW COUNTRY SQUIRE (MISS J M SMITH) Another very nice young dog with a good head. Correct topline and tailset, correct shoulders. He moved and showed well 3rd ROCASOVALE RAZZLE DAZZLE (MRS J SMITH)
POST GRADUATE – Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1st GLENCHESS ALL IN THE STARS (MR S W G & MRS E R SHORT) Well balanced wheaten brindle with good head. Correct topline. Showed well 2nd FIELDRON CALL MY BLUFF AT LINACRELADS (MRS J LYNCH) Wheaten with good coat. Didn’t seem to be enjoying him today. |
LIMIT – Dog The best class of the day, all four dogs were top quality and it was a pleasure to go over them. Entries: 4 Absentees: 0 1st DEVIL IN DISQUISE (MRS C GRAINGER) I gave him the RCC out of junior in 2006 and he has lived up to all his potential. He has a head which makes your heart melt, a level topline which he keeps on the move, correct tailset, and good reach of neck into excellent shoulders and moved with such drive from the rear. He showed well and I had no hesitation in handing him top honours. 2nd STRYVELING ROBB RUADH (MRS F S CAMERON) There was nothing between 2 & 3 but 3 just lost interest in showing at the critical time .Another lovely dog, red, with that much desired black mask and ears, an excellent coat good topline and tailset it was a pity he had to meet 1 today. 3rd TWOHOOTS BARNABAS JW (MR A J & MRS C STEPHINSON) Res BIRSELAW DAYDREAM BELIEVER (MISS Y CATTO)
OPEN - Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1st WINETTA JIMMY MACK (MRS J PERCY) Grey brindle with excellent coat. Good reach of neck into correct shoulders moved and showed well.
MINOR PUPPY - BitchEntries: 2 Absentees: 1 1st LANDBUCK JAZZ HANDS (MR A & MR R A FELTERS & RUMENS) A lovely little girl, litter sister to MPD, very inquisitive, investigating everything, just how a Cairn should be. Very feminine head with correct dark eye, lovely teeth with correct bite, super coat she moved very well when she settled I loved her and will watch her career with interest. BP
JUNIOR - Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 2 1st HONEYHALL HIDE N SEEK (MRS E B & MR I L B SHAW) Very feminine bitch with a very mischievous expression. Lovely head excellent double coat, good topline and tailset which she held on the move I liked her very much. 2nd ANJOFRA ME ME ME (MRS C & MISS S CONFUE) Another very nice bitch and the above remarks apply I just preferred the movement of 1 today 3rd LARCHLEA LIGHT MY FIRE (MR & MRS J I WREN)
YEARLING - Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 1 1st BIRSELAW FIREBIRD OF STRADIVARIUS (MR R MUNDAY) Wheaten with a lovely dark mask and ears. Correct double coat. OPEN - Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 2 1st CH LARCHLEA KNOT TO BE MIST (MRS C TEMPLETON) Very feminine dark grey brindle, well balanced with everything correct and in the right place. A lovely strong jaw with good big strong teeth in correct bite. Another head to die for with that wicked Cairn expression. A great showgirl and she moved well. I have admired her from the ringside and she lived up to my expectations on the table. 2nd NED/LUX CH BIRSELAW EMMA (MRS N J SMOOK-VAN-KOOLBERGEN) Wheaten brindle, with good topline and tailset. Good double coat. 3rd GLENCHESS GOLDEN WINGS (MR S W G & MRS E R SHORT) Res STRYVELING MEG MERRILIES (MRS F S CAMERON)
