BELFAST CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
26 September 2009
CAIRN TERRIERS
I would like to
thank Belfast Show Society for inviting me to judge, their generous hospitality and thank you to Sandra who
managed to get everyone where they had to be at the correct time. The very small entry of Cairns was
disappointing nevertheless there were two green cards on offer. My main winners were excellent examples of
the breed in fact the BOB was made up that day. The ring was rather small which made it difficult to assess
movement.
JD 1
Catto’s Birselaw Follow Your Dream – Beautiful head and
expression, neat ears, good reach of
neck into correct shoulders, level topline and good tailset, harsh coat of good
length, standing correctly and moved well enough in the space we had. He is well up to size but not in anyway
coarse RCC
PGD 2
1 Allen’s Minorcas Xmas Card – Typical head, correct bite,
could do with a little more neck, good layback of shoulders, level topline ,
tail looked rather too long could be trimmed a little, moved very well, smart
dog in very good condition, not on his toes in the challenge.
2 Austin’s Minorcas Drummer Boy – Grey brindle, head ok,
nicely put together prefered length of back of 1, coat not at its best.
LD 1
1 Dalzell’s Laganside The Special One – Wheaten brindle,
good head, correct neck and shoulders, level topline moved ok, very short of
coat and shown on a very heavy choke chain – he would benefit from a looser,
lighter lead. Quite a nice dog.
OD 4(1)
1 Templeton’s Larchlea Time To Entertain - Such a lovely dog to go over, beautiful head
and expression, good big teeth, correct length of neck and layback of shoulders,
level topline which he kept on the move, tailset good, standing well forward on
good strong feet. He never put a foot
wrong and moved well in the limited
space. Put down to perfection had to
have the CC his third and BOB
2 Hogarty’s IR Ch
Cadagio The Unexpected – Another good one to go over, excells in head and
expression, good neck and shoulders, level topline, tailset on well, good tight
feet, unfortunately he never got in his stride today neither did he have his
mind on the job, shame.
3 Dalzell’s Kenmillo The Unexpected
JB 2
1 Hogarty’s Cadagio Make It Happen – feminine red in good
coat with a very appealing expression, good big teeth, lovely neck and shoulders, level topline,
good tailset, moved well when she
settled, she loses concentration very quickly so her tail goes down, when she
stands full square with her tail up she has a lovely outline CC
2 Templetons Larchlea Can’t Remember (love the name) – Dark
brindle just out of puppy, oozes type, typical head, good neck and shoulders,
dead level topline, correct
tailset, strong legs and feet, showed all the time, giving a
lot away in age, no doubt at all her day will come.
PGB 1
1 Catto’s Birselaw Bewitched – very feminine with a lovely
head and expression, good neck and shoulders, topline ok, tailset good, played
up on the move but when she settled she was ok.
OB
1 Dean’s Orior Along Came Polly – wheaten brindle, lovely
head, good neck shoulders and level topline, correct tailset, in very good
coat, not overdone an honest cairn moved well, close decision between her and
the 2nd in junior anyway she deserved the RCC
