CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
Held at the Sixmile
Leisure Centre, Ballyclare on Saturday 28th February 2009. I would like to thank the Northern
Ireland Cairn Terrier Club for inviting me to Judge their show and for their
kind hospitality, also to the exhibitors for a very enjoyable day. Minor Puppy Dog (5, 1 abs) 1. Heidecker & Inett’s HYDECASTLE NORMAN, smart seven month red brindle. Profuse double
coat. Good length of neck, level
topline, good tailset, moved well. 2. Mears, GLENMEAR
MARAUDER, just six months, lovely grey brindle, lovely head with
mischievous expression. Very nicely
balanced, good turn of stifle, difficult to assess on the move, as not
co-operating with his handler today, just needs a little time. 3. Alexander’s PHILIP
MATTHEWS WEE BOY Puppy Dog (2, 2 abs) Junior Dog (5, 2 abs) 1. Harrison & Inett’s NONCOM INETT TU WINNIT WITH CARRADINE, mature wheaten
brindle. Lovely head and
expression. Good neck and shoulders,
spring of rib. Moved and showed well. 2. Marshall’s STRATHGARTEN
CRACKER JACK, red with desirable dark points,
nicely balanced, level topline and good tailset. Moved out well once he
settled. Showed well. 3. Ough’s OCEDAR BENJI Maiden Dog (1) 1. Dalzell’s LAGANSIDE
THE SPECIAL ONE, wheaten brindle, lovely masculine head. Good length of
neck, nicely balanced, showed well. Novice Dog (2) 1. Austin’s MINORAS
DRUMMER BOY, grey brindle, good head. Needs time to mature. Showed well 2. Stewart’s DRUVON
MASTER WILLIE, profuse red coat, head furnishings will complete the
picture. Lost out today to one on
movement. Graduate Dog (5, 1 abs) 1. Mosley & Inett’s SPAWYCHE
ELIZABETHAN ONYX, wheaten brindle with desired dark points, attractive
masculine head. Good outline, nicely bodied and nicely presented in good
coat. Showed well. 2. Allen’s MINORAS
XMAS CARD, dark brindle, nice balanced outline, showed and moved ok. 3. Wedge’s MASTER
MACKENZIE OF MONEA Post Graduate Dog (1) 1. Ough’s OCEDAR
ZEPHYR, red coat of correct texture, good length of neck into level
topline. More head furnishings would complete the picture. Moved and showed well. Limit Dog (2) 1. Alexander’s DREAMBOY
BOBBY, wheaten with dark points, good topline, a little on the heavy
side. Showed ok. 2. Forbes EGLISH
FORBES MACGREGOR, wheaten brindle, masculine head, lost out to one on front movement today. Open Dog (7, 2 abs) 1. Pollock’s LARCHLEA
LICENCE TO THRILL AT STANEDYKES, outstanding red brindle, with super
masculine head and expression. Good
neck and shoulders into level topline
with a good quality coat. Nice spring of rib and well balanced. Good turn of
stifle, covered the ground very well driving from behind. Showed all out, was very pleased to award
him DCC & BOB. It was nice to be advised later that this was his crowning third. 2. Firth’s & Jones CH.
CAIRNGOLD JACKPOT, wheaten, nice outline, straight front with a good
spring of rib. Good neck and
shoulders, presented in good coat.

SLISHWOOD SORRELLA, 9 year old dark brindle bitch, coat of good texture,
moved and showed well enjoying her day out. 2. Ough’s OCEDAR
MORNING STAR, another 9 year old bitch, red, moved well, not as showy as
one. Special Beginners Dog (3) 1. Ough’s OCEDAR
BENJI, red dog with desirable dark points. Good neck and shoulders into level topline. Coat of correct texture. Moved and showed well. 2. Austin’s MINORCAS

MAKE IT HAPPEN, lovely red, nicely balanced with a good length of leg.
Nice dark eye, lovely expression. Good
neck and shoulders into level topline.
Moved ok once settled. Showed
well. BP 2. Drysdale MINORCAS
GIRL FRIDAY, lovely feminine cream bitch, good neck into level topline
and good tail set. Good spring of rib, nicely bodied and a good turn of
stifle. Moved well when she settled but not co-operating with handler today –
perseverance and she should have a bright future. 3. Hogarty’s CADAGIO
SULTRY SIREN Puppy Bitch (1) 1. Bambridge’s LUVEMAL
CHERRY BEA, wheaten with dark points. Lovely head and expression, nicely
bodied, just needs time to mature. Junior Bitch (5, 2 abs) 1. Harrison & Innet’s NONCOM MINNIE THE MINX AT CARRADINE, wheaten brindle, good head,
neat ears and dark eye. Moved and showed well. 2. Parker-Tucker’s UNIQUECOTTAGE
SEA BREEZE, nicely balanced dark red brindle, good head, nice length of
neck into a good level topline and tailset. Not co-operating with her handler
on the move today. 3. Hogarty’s CADAGIO

GUNNING FOR GOLD WITH DOONRAE, red with dark points, lovely outline, good
length of neck into level topline. More head furnishings needed to complete
the picture. Good turn of stifle, moved with drive. 2. Ough’s OCEDAR JUST
FANCY, red bitch, smaller type than one, good coat coming in, moved well
once settled. 3. Stewart’s DRUVON

CANDLELIGHT, striking red bitch with desired dark points. Lovely head
with dark eye with a mischievous expression.
Nicely bodied, level topline, good tailset Moved from behind with real drive. Coat in excellent condition.

of neck, level topline. Covered the ground well. Lost out to one on
