SOUTHERN CAIRN TERRIER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
SHOW 27 JUNE
2009 JUDGE;PAT
JEFFREY – BITCHES I was
delighted to judge bitches at this SCTC Show and to share the judging with
two respected senior judges. Not having been to many shows in the last few years most
of the entry was new to me. I think rear movement has improved somewhat in the
last few years. Heads in the lower bitch classes, I feel, were lacking in the
true Cairn expression and I saw little in the bitch puppy classes that really
had the “WOW” factor as has often
happened in the past. From what I saw
in the puppy dog classes I think the young dogs have the better heads. Temperaments were good and I found very few bitches with
the incorrect bite or very small teeth. Even a very pretty feminine head
should have large functional teeth and most of them did. SPECIAL VETERAN, DOG
OR BITCH ( 5, 1 ab ) This class was a bit of a problem to judge being dogs and
bitches, but Mary and I judged it together and we agreed on the final
placings. 1. Wall’s Ch Shearwater Cae de Sonhas 2. Dolan’s Glenrood Magic Pippit – A very pretty cream bitch of 10 years. Lovely
feminine head and expression and in good condition. BEST VETERAN BITCH 3 Birch’s Kinkim Prinzludy 4 Ough’s Ocedar Kiwi MINOR PUPPY BITCH (9
- 4 ab) 1

maturity. 2 Weinberger’s CORRENIE

10 months. Coat at the in between stage, nice head, well placed ears, good
length of neck. 3 Berrecloth’s SYBSTER
