Cairn Terriers- Judge’s Report

I enjoyed judging this Show and had some lovely quality entries. Heads were good on the whole with correct mouths. Front movement was good in nearly all exhibits but still a lot of close rear movement.

MPD 2            1 Confue’s ANJOFRA I’M NOT GOING well put together brindle puppy, lovely head with good stop and wicked expression. Good mouth, neck & shoulders, topline & tailset. Moved out well when settled and I was pleased to award him BP.

2 Peers’ TWEEDISLE MAC NAB cream baby on his first outing and a little over-awed. All the essentials were present just needs to grow in confidence.

PD 2               1 Percy’s WINETTA SIR PERCY another well made dog puppy who was unlucky to meet the MPD in challenge for BP. Well balanced & showed well. In good coat, lovely head, correct mouth & expression. Moved well but just preferred the rear movement of MPD.

2 Thompson’s  CASTLELINE BANG ON TIME well made puppy who moved quite well and had all the essentials but I just preferred the head of 1

JD 1                1 Bain & Inett’s CARRADINE CAUSIN’ A RIOT AT SCOTSELAW well made young junior coming into a new coat. Good topline & tailset. Neat ears, dark eye & balanced outline.

ND 2 (1)         1 CARRADINE CAUSIN’ A RIOT AT SCOTSELAW moved better this time.

PGD 11 (1)    1 Shopland’s CHERRYCRACK BLACKADDER well put together, excellent head with good stop, dark eyes and lovely expression. Deep rib with well laid shoulders, level topline and well set tail. Moved with drive. Pleased to award him the RCC

2 Weinberger’s LARCHLEA COME FLY WITH ME TO CORRENIE brindle dog, well presented & showing good outline. Strong masculine head with wide skull, dark eyes, deep stop and correct mouth.  Level topline & good tailset. Movement OK.

3 Harland’s CANNWOOD ZIPPER AT THACKESTON

LD 4               1 Warne’s SPIREBROOKE DAWN RAIDER well presented, showing good outline. Strong masculine head, well laid shoulders, good topline & tailset. Moved well.

2 Marshall’s STRATHGARTEN CRACKERJACK  in full bloom, shorter in back than 1 but still presenting a balanced outline. All the essentials with another lovely head. On his toes but just preferred the movement of 1.

                        3 Soper’s UNIQUECOTTAGE RING PLOVER

OD 7               1 Short’s GLENCHESS ALL IN THE STARS a quality brindle dog, well presented. Correct length of neck, good head with dark eyes, correct ear placement & good bite. Good topline & tailset, moved so well holding topline. Pleased to award him the CC.

2 Middlehurst’s CH ZALAZAR UNZIPPED! AT STARVEREN shorter coupled than 1 but still a well made dog & worthy Ch. Good neck & shoulders, level topline & good tailset. Correct rear angulation & moved steadily.

                        3 Moseley & Inett’s SPAWYCHE ELIZABETHAN ONYX

MPB 6 (3)      1 Hewitt’s LITTLEACORN ELISE well balanced compact bitch with the sweetest of heads, neat ears, dark eyes giving a really mischievous expression. Nicely laid shoulders & good length of neck, moved & showed with verve.

2 Peer’s TWEEDISLE TANSY a nicely put together puppy with all the essentials, how I wished I could have seen her move! With a little more time this should improve.

                        3 Vosper’s CAIRNGOLD GUINEVERE

PB 4               1 Dolan’s GLENROOD MASQERADE Rangy cream bitch with beautiful outline. Lovely feminine head & expression with good mouth. Good neck & shoulders, well set on tail & held her topline on the move.

2 Percy’s WINETTA MISS INDEPENDENT another lovely puppy from this exhibitor. Not quite so rangy as 1 but with all the same attributes, a very close call.

3 Hewitt’s LITTLEACORN STAY IN TOUCH

JB 1                1 Osborn’s TWESLAM WINTER MAGIC Although she stood alone she was a worthy winner. Lovely typy red brindle with the sweetest of heads, neat ears, dark eyes, good stop & true Cairn expression. Well balanced with good neck & shoulders, she moved well driving from the rear, true in front & retaining her topline.

NB 3               Three lovely bitches

1 Oldale’s TWESLAM DAWN CHORUS AT CRANAE beautifully balanced red bitch in full bloom, loved her outline. She was correct in all departments & moved with drive.

2 Inett’s CARRADINE COME ON IRENE another lovely bitch who was only beaten on maturity, I have admired from the ringside. Well balanced, full of life dark brindle. Lovely head & expression, good mouth, level topline & good rear angulation.

                        3 Harding’s CANWOOD REMEMBER HOLLY
