                              DRIFFIELD CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

                             SATURDAY  2nd OCTOBER 2010

I enjoyed my day at Driffield and would like to thank the Society for their Hospitality, also the Stewards for the smooth running of my ring.

Movement is still a problem with some rear movement too close and a few wide in front, Heads are another issue with muzzles fine and long not what you want to see on a Cairn, some lacked fore chest and some in need of dental hygiene( dirty teeth), having said all that I had a lot of quality exhibits to go over and I was pleased with my final selection.

DOG CC & B O B was Shannon&Storr’s BRENNDARCY TROUBLE AT MILL  a red brindle in top form today, balanced with a masculine head, good neck, level topline, and good tailset.shown in good coat and condition, moved with drive round the ring, nice outline when standing I was pleased to award him the CC & BOB.

RES DOG CC was King & Leighton’s CARRADINE NIGHT LISTENER AT HARKINLEIGH  I like this dog he has matured nicely since I last judged him, masculine head with nice expression, good body with well sprung ribs, moves with drive, a shade longer than 1 but a lot to like about him, his day will come soon.

BITCH CC was Firth’s CAIRNGOLD CANDLELIGHT  this bitch was in fine form today showing her lovely outline when standing, she is very sound and well balanced with a lovely feminine head and expression, good mouth, neck, shoulders and topline, moved well round the ring, my pleasure to award her the CC ( her 3rd I believe)

RES BITCH CC  Owen’s HONEYHALL HANDFUL AT CALDWELL I judged her when she was just a pup and I liked her then she is maturing nicely and I feel she has a little more to go for top honours, she has a lovely feminine head, she is nicely made with a lot to like about her, moved and showed well.

I had three bitches in the frame for Res CC ,

BEST PUPPY IN BREED was Confue’s ANJOFRA I’M NOT GOING red brindle with nice head and expression, good mouth, neck and level topline, moved well round the ring, still maturing but should do well when he is finished, nice showman.
