PLEASE FIND BELOW MY REPORT FOR CAIRN TERRIERS AT THE SCOTTISH KENNEL CLUB CHAMPSHIP SHOW 23RD MAY 2010

I wish to thank the SKC for giving me my first appointment to give CC’s and for their wonderful hospitality and well done to all for an extremely well organised show.   The day dawned misty but turned to “August” type weather.   The rings had longish grass which hid the dips and it being the third day and third in the ring handlers had some “fun” with their charges when on the move making it a real challenge to see clear movement.

PUPPY DOG 2(0)

1)   Confue’s Anjofra I’m Not Going dark copper brindle 71/2 month pup – full of promise good strong teeth set in correct scissor bite – loved his expression – wicked eye saying “WHAT’S NEXT”.  Stretchy neck good lay of shoulder, nice fore chest – ribs – level back with good tail set hindquarters developing into themselves once settled moved well BPD and Best Puppy .

2)  Percy’s Winetta Sir Percy – red brindle masculine head dark eye with good scissor bite enough reach of neck.  A squarer type to one moved ok.

JUNIOR DOG 2(1)

1)      Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Fable grey brindle expressive head strong jaw good length neck, front okay  strong quarters  once settled moved ok.

POST GRAD DOG 5(0) A strong class

(1)   Mears’s Glenmear Marauder  dark brindle medium proportioned male – classic head , everything in proportion ears, eyes , jaw – wickedest expression, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders good fore chest,  straight front balanced  body to leg – strong supply hindquarters – well set tail – good straight jacket.  He is such a naughty character gives his handler a nightmare of a time – eventually showed me his true driving movement  a pleasure to give him CC.

(2)   Shopland’s Cherrycrack Blackadder dark grey brindle a quality male – excellent head, dark eye, mischevious expression, good stop strong scissor bite, good reach of neck,  forechest,  good lay of shoulder, straight back, tail carriage, strong quarters moved well – a very close decision between these two RDCC

(3)   Catto’s B irselaw Follow Your Dream

LIMIT DOG 0(0)

OPEN DOG 3(2)

1)      Smith’s Ch Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle  Grey brindle well proportioned – larger male good head & expression, strong bone throughout - in  good jacket – moved ok stood alone but a quality dog.

PUPPY BITCH 5(4) A good class

1)      Miller’s  Cornton Badger’s Hope cream brindle 11 month young lady – feminine head – in proportion – lovely dark eye, good scissor bite, correct fore chest  , shoulder into good front – enough bone for size – although coat not at its best of correct texture.  Moved well – a quality girl to go over BPB

2)      Smiths Anjofra Plum Tart at Rocasovale red brindle what a livewire all the same comments as above needs to slim off some weight to see true picture – really a bundle of fun requiring some skilled handling by handler.

3)      Percy’s Winetta Miss Independant

JUNIOR BITCH 3(1)

1)      Miller’s Cornton Reay grey brindle again a lovely girl to go over – good head, eye, mouth, reachy  neck medium body enough length of leg for balance very sound mover needs to make more of herself in  challenges  as she is a bitch of quality.

2)      Osborn’s  Tweslam  Maid by Magic foxy red girl expressive head, dark eye, good mouth, legs in proportion to body neat coat – moved well – two lovely girls.

POST GRAD BITCH 5(2) a trio of lovely girls

1)      Confue’s Anjofra Welcome to La La Land red with dark points - expressive head, good proportions, excellent mouth, reachy neck good lay of shoulder front straight good fore chest – sound body – to muscled hindquarters – moved out well – lovely girl – started to flag in heat for challenge.

2)       Osborn’s Tweslam Winter Magic red brindle – lovely expressive head – comments very similar to first a more compact lady, correct coat lovely texture moved well.

3)      Berrecloth’s  Sybster  Sonja

LIMIT BITCH 6 (2) a class full of quality

1)      Templeton’s  Larchlea Can’t Remember  a dark brindle lady very expressive head – in perfect proportion, good scissor bite, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good fore chest straight front  - body in proportion to leg length – muscled quarters – no over exaggeration  tail set dead on – moved with energy & drive flowing over ground – with ease.  Never stopped showing a really true spirited cairn – worked  so  well with her handler I had real pleasure in giving her CC & BOB – in the big ring she carried on showing her heart out never stopping  - a lady well worth remembering.

2)      Wren’s Larchlea Light My Fire grey brindle a very good quality similar remarks as above so unfortunate to meet, her day will come well handled.

OPEN BITCH 4(0)

1)      Catto’s Birselaw Bewitched grey cream brindle beautiful  expressive head, scissor bite, well set on neck into well laid shoulders – good fore chest- straight front – correct ribs – muscled rear – good tail set – only criticism perhaps a shade long in body – moved with ease kept her profile so well, worked with her handler well – deserved her 1st and RCC

2)      Wren’s Larchlea Spirit in the Sky another lovely girl grey brindle expressive head, dark eye, clean scissor bite – good reach of neck neck into well  laid shoulder in fact same remarks as above – coat a shade short moved &showed well for her handler.
