MANCHESTER CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW 19TH JANUARY 2012 CAIRN TERRIERS I would like to thank the
exhibitors for their entry for the show, but I was disappointed with the
quality of some of the dogs. I was surprised to find some bad mouths, and
small teeth. Some exhibits were over weight with heavy shoulders, and
presentation was very mixed, with some dogs needing better grooming. The
standard says rugged but not ragged. Movement was very mixed, ranging from
good movement to wide fronts with restricted movement, and close hind
movement with no drive. Care should be taken when choosing show stock, and it
is always good to get somebody to move the dogs so that you can view the
movement as a judge would see it! I was pleased with my main
winners. Dog C.C. and B.O.B was Percy’s Winetta Sir Percy, Res. Dog C.C.
Shannon & Storr’s Ch Brenndarcy Trouble At Mill. Bitch C.C. winner was
Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Xtra Factor, Res. C.C. Shearsmith’s Cloverbrook Cream
O’ the Crop at Eborvale, and Best Puppy was Burgin’s Noncom Solitaire. Puppy Dog 3 (2 abs) 1st. Burgin’s

mouth with good sized teeth, good forechest, coat tight and of a good
texture. Moved okay when settled. His first show. Junior Dog 5 (2 abs) 1st. Robert’s
