DOWN TO THE LAST 5 FOR BPIS!

My thanks to the Yorkshire branch of “ Help The Aged Rent A Crowd”

Scottish Breeds 31/03/2012 – Cairn Terrier

Firstly I would like to thank the Committee of the Scottish Breeds for the invite to judge & award my first set of CC’s at their show. Crossing the border to our beloved breeds homeland seemed fitting and made it all that more special.

Not a large entry but enough for me to find quality. I would also like to thank my exhibitors for entering, especially those who in spite of petrol prices and panic buying travelled long distances to support me.

I was pleased with my final frame, my DCC & BOB Winetta Sir Percy is now a worthy Champion and hopefully my quality BCC Tweslam Winter Magic will gain her crown. I was thrilled with my best puppy Newfield Harvest Moon, so to see him shortlisted in the BPIS challenge was the icing on the cake that made a perfect end to my day.

Minor Puppy – Dog 2,0a

1st Bradshaw’s Newfield Harvest Moon, Wow! What a beautiful boy, at just 6 months old this red brindle has that natural showmanship and stance one dreams of. His head is so strong and masculine, good stop, correct ear set, dark expressive eye, the best of mouths with large teeth. His outline when standing is striking. Soundly put together with a good straight front, and strong rear. Lovely positive side action. Harshly textured coat. Pleased to award him BPIB

2nd Law’s Birselaw True Believer 7 months, wheaten brindle with dark points, bigger all round than 1, good mouth with large teeth. Moved ok when settled and kept his topline. In-between coats. Could benefit from losing some weight..

Junior – Dog 2,0a

Only two in the class but a difficult decision as they were of very different types, although both 13 months old at different stages of development.

1st Catto’s Birselaw Bobby Darin, light red with good head, moved positively, good stop and forechest. Not a big boy but well proportioned. Moved steadily with level topline on the move.  Stands well forward. Still a baby and needs time to mature and hopefully grow on.

2nd Felters and Rumens’ Landbuck Para Handy. Dark brindle boy, more mature and larger all round than 1. Good head with excellent mouth, eye, stop and lovely expression. Correct coat texture. Plenty of forechest, stands well forward. Preferred movement of 1.

Novice – Dog 1,0a

1st Fortune’s Eglish Spitting Image With Essdeeeff. Heavy coated red who needs to slim down as his excess weight spoilt his movement. He has a lovely head and expression. Good Coat texture, attentive to his handler.

Post Graduate – Dog 5,1a

1st Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again. Handsome grey brindle just out of Junior and seems to be maturing well. Good mouth, head, earset and lovely expression. Moved soundly fore and aft, handled and presented well in full coat.

2nd Byrne & Inett’s Carradine Brian The Lion, larger all round than 1, wheaten brindle presented in tip top condition, showed and handled well, good forechest, head in proportion but lacks furnishing, good mouth, lovely reach of neck, strong well constructed body. Preferred overall balance of one.

3rd  Auchinkyle Superman Stan At Drayem (Buchan)

Limit – Dog 3,0a

1st Harland’s Cannwood Zipper At Thackeston, a lovely boy who I feel has been overlooked, lovely strong masculine head and exp, well constructed with good bone and correct forechest, one of the best movers of the day, kept a level topline and showed well which gave him this class

2nd Confue’s Anjofra Im Not Going Jw. Unfortunately his expression said “Take me home”!  Not himself today. Good mouth, lovely head with correct stop, dark eye. Good length of neck, moved ok but not as positive as 1. Not a big boy but balanced.

3rd Birselaw Fable (Ms J & Mr B Lamb & Saltmarsh)

Open – Dog 6,0a

1st Percy’s Winetta Sir Percy. I love this dog for his masculinity. A very attractive red with excellent coat presented in tiptop condition. Super strong head. A treat to go over, good bone, forechest, strong hindquarters, correct tailset. Moves out with drive keeping a level topline. Thrilled to award him DCC & BOB

2nd Smith’s Ch Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle. Up to size grey Brindle, The best of heads with a good stop, eyes, and super expression. A big lad but balanced. On form today and body in ex condition, moved all out and soundly – love him.

3rd Felters & Rumens’ Ch Landbuck Tillisch

Minor Puppy – Bitch 2,1a

1st Bradshaw’s Newfield Michaelmas Daisy, She is as feminine as her brother is masculine, a fidget on the table, but stood still long enough for me to ensure that she was sound, a good mouth in a very attractive head, correct earset and lovely dark eye, this very pretty 6 month old red brindle moved well when settled. Still a baby.

Puppy – Bitch 5,0a

1st Percy’s Winetta Unforgettable, 12 months on the day – A classy, smart and very attractive wheaten with desirable dark points, loved her showmanship, handled well and shown in excellent coat and condition. Good head with correct ear set, well constructed, good reach of neck. Free movement. Lovely stance. BPB

2nd Clarke’s Lentrica Sweet Sensation, so feminine, all girl, this 8 month wh brindle was presented in excellent coat and condition, expertly handled and shown. Lovely to go over, moved around the ring like a professional. Shade longer in the back than one.

Unfortunate to come across 1 today in such good form.

3rd Carradine Eva Either (Mrs R A Harrison)

Junior – Bitch 3,2a

1st Miller’s Cornton Diabaig/. Dk brindle 13 month old. This petite lady was rather spooked by the noisy hall today so handler was unable to get the best of her.

Novice – Bitch 2.0a

1st Buchan’s Carradine Little Cracker At Drayem  dark brindle with a beautiful head and expression. Lots to like, good coat, soundly constructed handled and moved well.

2nd Miller’s Cornton Diabaig

Post Graduate – Bitch 3,0a

1st Byrne’s Little Miss Tonka. This cream girl moved and showed well to win this class. Although not blessed with full head furnishings she has a beautiful expression with lovely dark eyes, good stop, correct mouth and those desirable dark points. Soundly made with coat of good texture and in excellent body condition, good straight front, moves with drive keeping topline on the move. And as ever - expertly handled.

2nd Buchan’s Carradine Little Cracker At Drayem.

3rd Berrecloth’s Sybster Sonja

Limit – Bitch 7, 0a

These seven divas decided to squabble on their first move around the ring, passers by would be excused for thinking it was the limit dog class

1st Osborn’s Tweslam Winter Magic, quality red brindle who took my eye as she entered the ring, on top form today, not a big girl but balanced and moved round the ring with elegance and drive, keeping a level topline and correct tailset. She has a good reach of neck, nicely bodied with enough bone. Very attractive head, super expression, neat dark ears. Liked her a lot – My BCC

2nd Shaw’s Honeyhall Hi N Dry, very showy attractive wheaten brindle superbly handled and presented in tip top condition. Beautiful head & expression. Level top line, movement not as positive as one but pleased to award her RBCC

3rd King, Leighton, Inett’s Curtisey Foreign Account With Carradine

Open – Bitch 3,0a

1st Inett’s Carradine Come On Irene Jw . This dk brindle bitch moves all out round the ring. The best of heads with good forechest, straight front with good bone. Lovely sparkly temperament. Superbly presented and handled as one would expect from this kennel.

2nd Osborn’s Tweslam Maid By Magic Jw, litter sister to my BCC, red and very different type but in excellent coat and body condition, So sound, moved, showed and handled well. Preferred showmanship of 1 today

3rd Byrne’s Little Miss Tonka
