CAIRN TERRIER C, 20/04/13

The Cairn Terrier Club held an 80th anniversary ch show where BIS was Ch Tribannon Guardian Angel; RBIS, Birselaw The Thrill Of It All; BP, Tweslam Jazzing It Up at Calamondin; & BV, Ch Larchlea Remember Remember.

A beautiful & delicious cake was shared during the lunch break to celebrate the occasion.We started the day with a silent tribute to Fiona Cameron.

The entry, as is the way these days, was not large & I was surprised at the diversity in size & substance of exhibits, especially among the males. I did find a couple of bad mouths & one with missing teeth. Some exhibits could have been presented with much cleaner coats even though they were trimmed very well. When asked to move in a triangle, please do so! Temperaments were excellent & apart from one or two, movement was not that bad.

VD (0).

VB (4) 1 Templeton’s Ch Larchlea Remember Remember, very dark with good head & expression, good size & balance, good bite, moved well with lots of energy. BV;

2 Ball’s Tweslam Izzy Wizzy Get Bizzy, red, good head, moved & showed well, enjoying her day out;

3 Jennings’ Doonrae Zestful.

Vintage (2) 1 Berrecloth’s Ch Sybster Spring Time, strong dog with masculine head, moved well, muscled & in hard condition, really showed off, enjoyed himself;

2 Berrecloth’s Sybster Spring Into Summer, littermate to 1 & very similar, remember her as a puppy when she had a mishap in the ring! Liked her then & like her now.

MPD (2) 1 Mears’ Glenmear Magee, light r/br, liked his head with stop & well placed, neat ears, good size, very much a baby & wanted to play – & why not? Will need to harness his enthusiasm, should do well;

2 Carter’s Cloverbrook Top Of The Bill at Carernwil, well made wheaten baby, nice head, good mouth, moved well. Needs more confidence but still so young.

PD (1) 1 Mears’ Glenmear Getylee Looks Like Fun, kennelmate to MP winner, heavier made, liked his shape & his head, bursting with energy, moved with drive.

JD (2) 1 Catto’s Birselaw The Thrill Of It All, really impressed with this smashing r/ br youngster, head excellent, dome & stop, dark eye, flowed from nose to tail, spirit level topline, in good coat, never stopped showing & alert at all times. CC & RBIS; 2 Waugh’s Tribannon War Dance, light red, pleasing head & expression. Not enjoying himself – maybe it was the mat. A shame as very well put together.

YD (3) 1 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Borgen, light red, interesting in that he handles bigger than he looks. Good head & expression, dark points, dark eye, moved & showed very well, liked him a lot;

2 Miller’s Cornton Coulter, r/br, up to size, good reach of neck, moved & showed well. Coat could do with some attention;

3 Waugh’s Tribannon War Dance.

MD & ND (0).

GD (2) 1 Fortune’s Eglish Spitting Image with Essdeeeff, dark red, masculine head, good neck & level topline, alert & showed well;

2 Sinclair’s Larchlea Hard Days Night, very dark grey, pleasing head & expression. Presentation could have been better.

PGD (4) 1 Percy’s Winetta Stand And Deliver, impressive r/br, up to size, liked his head & expression, dark eye, good mouth, balanced all through, presented very well, lively, showy & moved well both ways. RCC;

2 Fortune’s Eglish Willies Wee Man with Essdeeeff, red dog on heavier lines than 1, head OK, movement fine. Tail up all the time;

3 Burr’s Strathview Country Squire.

LD (5) 1 Latimer’s Birselaw Sir Bobby, light gr/br, good head & expression, ears pricked at all times, standing looks short coupled but stretches himself out on the move & produces a good shape, covers the ground well;

2 Catto’s Birselaw Bobby Darin, lighter built than 1, good outline, coat in good order. Preferred the movement of 1;

3 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again.

OD (2) 1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Fable, masculine grey, presented well & in good order, took a while to settle & then moved well, never let up showing.

BD (2) 1 Buchan’s Auchinkyle Superman Stan at Drayem, dark grey, nice head, showy;

2 L Hard Days Night.

MPB (2) Two very nice puppies. 1 Ball’s Tweslam Jazzing It Up at Calamondin, lovely cream baby, liked her head & sweet expression, good shape, moved & showed very well for such a youngster. Obviously needs time but I was smitten with her. BP;

2 Berrecloth’s Sybster Sanderoma, light red with good outline, pleasing head & expression, carried herself with confidence.

PB (1) 1 Bowness’ Birselaw Blithe Spirit, light red, nice head & shape, confidence rose on the move, very short of coat. Needs time.

JB (1) A.

YB (3) 1 Berrecloth’s Sybster Scarasta, wheaten with nice head & dark points, balanced, good stance;

2 Catto’s Birselaw Give Me A Break, dark grey, well furnished, pleasing head. Preferred front movement of 1.

2 Miller’s Cornton Diabaig, dark grey, good outline, level topline, showy;

3 Berrecloth’s Sybster Sunday Best.

PGB (8) Good class. 1 Clarke’s Lentrica Sweet Sensation, wheaten, lovely head & expression with neat, pricked ears, showy & moved well, handled well. Coat not at its best;

2 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Snedronningen, assertive, attractive wheaten with dark points, moved & showed well;

3 Shaw’s Honeyhall Hearsay.

LB (6) 1 Yates & Johnson’s Pendley Playaway, lovely dark r/ br, very pleased with her head & expression, presented & handled very well. Would prefer a shade more leg but overall a lovely example of the breed. RCC;
