Southern Cairn Terrier Club Championship Show

2^nd February 2013.

I would like to thank the Southern Cairn Terrier Club for inviting me to judge their championship show, the exhibitors and special thanks to my two excellent stewards Sharon Confue and Jennie Fairweather. With one or two exceptions I found the dogs were in good condition, more consideration should be given to heads as this defines our breed, feet on the whole were ok but some were thin and ferrety not with the thick and strong pads as in the standard.

Minor Puppy Dog (6 – 2Abs)

1st Roberts Cannwood Royal Appointment – Wheaten, very much a baby, good mouth and eye, level top line, showed well when settled.

2^nd Felters & Rumens Landbuck Bytheway – Wheaten brindle in good coat and condition, not making the best of himself today.

3^rd Saichs Lincoly Smart Attraction

Puppy Dog (5)

1^st Waites Svendalens Snow Knight – Upstanding youngster with good head, neck and shoulders and correct tailset, coat just coming in.

2^nd Coffells Ometto I Am The One And Only – Wheaten with good head, topline and tailset. Lost out to 1 on movement.

3^rd Saichs Lindcoly Smart Attraction.

Junior Dog (5 – 2Abs)

1^st Cattos Birselaw the Thrill of it All – Wheaten brindle, level topline, good mouth eye and ears. Moved steadily.

2^nd Curries Stirlingview Stunning – Dark brindle, same as 1 but lost out on movement.

3^rd Saichs Lincoly Sword in the Sword.

1^st Goldfinchs Kanawha What a Thriller – Red brindle with good head, in good coat and condition, movement difficult to assess.

Post Graduate Dog (6)

1^st Byrne and Inetts Carradine Brian the Lion – Silver brindle, strong male head, good topline and tailset, moved with drive.

2^nd Lamb and Saltmarshs Birselaw Fable – Dark brindle good eye and ears, neck and level topline, Coat not at its best.

3^rd Coffells Cloverbrook Crusader at Ometto.

Limit Dog (7 – 2Abs)

1^st Parker Tuckers Uniquecottage Raleigh – Dark brindle, good head and expression with good front and level topline, moved well just lacking a little sparkle to-day.

2^nd Peers Tweedisle Sea Scout – Silver brindle with good head topline and tailset. Moved well in front.

1^st Braybrooks CH Cloverbrook Code Breaker – Dark brindle with a great head, good neck and shoulders, well set tail moved well with drive. CC – RBS

2^nd Robinsons CH Cruzo Bilbo Baggins – Wheaten another very good male, same applies as 1 but just preferred the head of 1.RCC

3^rd Roberts Cannwood Cut Above.

Special Veteran Dog or Bitch 7 to 9 years (4 – 1Abs)

1^st Graingers CH Devil in Disguise – Red in excellent coat and condition with a good head, topline and tailset, moved well. Best Veteran

2^nd Waughs CH Razzle Dazzle at Tribannon – Wheaten with good head and movement. Lost out on presentation.

3^rd McIntyres Beanoak Snug in the Blanket.

Special Veteran Dog or Bitch 10 years and over (3)

1st Dolans Glenrood Magic Pipit – 14 year old wheaten in good coat and condition enjoying her day out.

2^nd Braybrooks Cloverbrook Loaded Dice – 14 year old dark brindle still enjoying his day out.

1^st Smees Malmay Sunshine Sally – Dark Brindle Very much a baby with all the confidence of a veteran. Lovely head with a wicked expression, level topline and well set tail, moved well, a pleasure to give her best puppy.

2^nd Robinsons Cruzo Chantelle – Wheaten very similar in out line to 1 but lost out in head to-day.

3^rd Roberts Cannwood Lillibeth.

Puppy Bitch (7)

1^st Confues Anjofra Mymble – Brindle very showy with good head front and topline. In good coat and condition.

2^nd Hewitts Littleacorn Aliye – Dark brindle, good mouth ears and eyes, moved well just needs more coat to complete the picture.

3^rd Robinsons Cruzo Cassandra.

Junior Bitch (9- 2Abs)

1^st Keeves Seveek Living the Dream – A red in excellent coat and condition typical head good head legs and feet. Moved well.

Promising.

2^nd Osborns Tweslam Thistle Be Magic – Same remarks apply as 1but not quite as positive on the move to-day.

3^rd Yates and Johnsons Pendley Hester –

1st Yates and Johnsons Pendley Hester – Wheaten brindle with good head and front, moved well, needs more coat to complete the overall appearance.

2^nd Lakers Wizoz Miss Backchat – Brindle with good harsh coat.

1st Keeves Seveek I Dreamed a Dream – Silver brindle with good neck and topline.

1^st Waughs Tribannon in the Limelight – Silver brindle, wicked head and expression, good reach of neck, tail set and bend of stifle.

2^nd Dolans Castleline Peggy Sue – Wheaten with good head, topline. Moved well. Good harsh coat.

3^rd Kintons Woodthorpe Maybe this Thyme.

Open Bitch (7)

1^st Dolans CH Glenrood Masquerade – Outstanding wheaten brindle in excellent coat and condition, Head, eyes and ears all good, Showed all the time and moved with drive. A pleasure to award her CC and BIS.

2^nd Owens Honeyhall Handful at Caldwall – Dark brindle with typical head, good neck, very similar in outline to 1. Moved and showed well. RCC

3^rd Braybrooks Cloverbrook Extra Factor.
