CAIRN TERRIER SKC CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 25TH AUGUST
2013 Though the entry was not big I thought the quality was
quite high. Bitches were better in
depth than the males, there were several bitches that were worthy of the
ticket. I was looking for cairns of type and who also possessed the cairn
spirit and personality that makes them such a delightful breed to own. Puppy Dog (4,1a) 1st Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Limited Edition,
happy 8 months old red puppy who was
in a full double coat of correct texture, well balanced with correct bone,
everything about him was medium, as it should be, moved well both ways and on
the day this won him Best
Puppy over the lovely
bitch puppy. 2nd Currie’s Stirlingview Superhero, 8 months old, light
red with attractive headand expression, taller than 1, has good reach of neck
and length of leg, enough bone, in full coat, moved well in front but needs
to improve in hind movement. 3rd Inett & Engebretsen’s Carradine Dexter Junior Dog (3) 1st Shaw’s Honeyhall Headboy, wheaten brindle with typy
head and expression, head was well furnished and enhanced by dark points and
neat ears, well balanced throughout with good length of neck, good topline
and tailset, however on the day not in the best of coat and this spoiled the
overall appearance of this young male. 2nd Felters & Rumen’s Landbuck Bytheway, another
quality youngster, a wheaten brindle who was in better coat than 1 but I just
preferred the head qualities of Headboy, well proportioned with level topline
and good tailset, moved ok once settled, was giving his handler a hard time
to keep him interested. 3rd Waites Svendalens Snow Knight Post Graduate Dog (2) 1st Bateman & Gompels Carradine Terries Tipple,
upstanding wheaten brindle who was in very good coat and condition, has an
attractive head with keen expression, is well balanced and has good reach of
neck and length of leg, good tailset, enough bone, moved soundly both fore
and aft, excellent showman RCC 2nd Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Borgen, well presented red with good head, mouth,
neck, topline and tailset, in double coat of correct texture, true movement both ways, personally I
would just like a bit more of him all over. Limit Dog (3) 1st Percy’s Winetta Stand And Deliver, red brindle with
a masculine head and typy expression, head fully furnished and wab in double
coat of correct length, good reach of neck, level topline and good tail set,
correct bone, moved true both ways, alert and animated, he completely owned
the ring, CC and BOB, Group
4. 2nd Byrne & Inett Carradine Brian The Lion,
grey/brindle, has an attractive head with keen expression, good reach of neck
and level topline, good tailset, correct bone, was in good coat, very showy and eager to please his handler, balance
wise I would prefer him to be slightly shorter in back. 3rd Currie’s Stirlingview Stunning Open Dog 1st Pearson’s Cloverbrook Special Effect, dark/brindle ,
basically a sound dog who handled well on table, good head with typy
expression, good shoulders and level topline, correct bone, was a bit wayward
on the move and needs a new coat to improve appearance. Puppy Bitch (4) 1st Berrecloth’s Sybster Sanderoma, very striking
wheaten with the most gorgeous head and expression, good stop and dark eye,
excellent reach of neck running into good layback of shoulders, level
topline, in full coat of correct texture, quality puppy who I think will soon
be troubling the best. 2nd Osborn’s Tweslam Mystery Of Magic, wheaten brindle,
10 months, has an attractive head and expression with correct mouth, good
neck, level topline and good tailset, balanced, moved and showed well, needs
new coat to complete the picture. 3rd Inett & Harrison’s Carradine Secret Snowdrop Junior Bitch (2) 2 lovely bitches 1st Felter’s & Rumens Landbuck Xanthe, eye catching
wheaten with dark points, delightful bitch with the most lovely feminine head
with keen expression, good reach of neck, clean shoulders, level topline and
good tailset, well proportioned and a nice size, excelled in coat and
condition, sound mover, extrovert
personality, tail never stopped wagging, CC. 2nd Goud’s Vale Of Atholls Bessie Mcintyre, wheaten
brindle, another quality bitch, slightly bigger and different type to 1, has
lovely head and expression, good neck, topline and tailset, good bone, lovely
outline, well constructed and in excellent coat and condition, alert and
showy, moved well both ways. Post Graduate Bitch (2, 1a) 1st Clarke’s Lentrica Sweet Sensation, stylish wheaten
brindle who has the most beautiful head with dark mask, good eye and neat
ears, classic cairn expression, nice reach of neck running into clean
shoulders, topline level and correct tailset, good angulation, nice size,
well constructed and moved soundly both ways, has a truly lovely outline
standing and on the move, RCC. Limit Bitch (4) Lovely class of quality bitches. 1st Bateman & Inett’s Carradine In Love With Amy,
smart wheaten brindle with a very attractive head and true cairn expression,
nicely constructed throughout and was in excellence coat and condition,
animated showgirl who moved freely and with style round the ring. 2nd Osborn’s Tweslam Thistle Be Magic, typy red brindle
with an attractive head with dark eye and neat ears, good mouth, nice reach
of neck and length of leg, good topline and tailset, coat of correct texture,
moved well, lacked a bit of sparkle today. 3rd Dolan’s Castleline Peggy Sue Open Bitch (3) 1st Clarke’s Ch Conundrum Sweeter For Me For Lentrica,
very dark brindle, charming bitch, full of character and oozing breed type,
correct head and true mischievous expression, well balanced, moved soundly
with freedom and style, she is all cairn and fills the eye, she is a very
worthy champion, just had to give way to youth today. 2nd Percy’s Winetta Miss Independant, red brindle, very
typical of this kennel, nice head and expression, bitch of good roportions,
in coat of correct length, moved soundly, not as outgoing as 1. 3rd Byrne’s Little Miss Tonka JUDGE YVONNE
