 Cairn Terriers

Due to the weather conditions judging took place in the tent. Some decisions were extremely close & placings could easily change on another day.

All puppies coped exceedingly well with the ground in the ring. Unfortunately the ground did not meet with approval from some Cairns in the higher classes& it affected their performance.

PD (7,2a)

1 Weinberger’s Correnie Hurricane Fly, very confident, balanced 6 months red. Excellent head & expression, correct mouth, good neck into well placed shoulders, level topline, good tailset, coat & condition. Moved very well& showed all out. A promising prospect;

2 Kinton’s Woodthorpe I Know The Code, wheaten/br, another promising 6 months old. Lovely head & expression, correct mouth, nice neck into sloping shoulders, good topline, tailset, coat& condition. Sympathetically handled to give his best. Moved & showed very well; 3 Alexander’s Stirlingview Shake The Dice.

JD (2) Two promising young dogs.

1 Roberts’ Canwood Call Of Duty, r/br, maturing nicely, lovely head & expression, correct mouth, nice neck into shoulders, good spring of rib, topline, tailset, coat & condition. Moved very well covering the ground. A very confident showman;

2 Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Winsford, r/br, just out of puppy. A lot to like about this youngster. Very good head & expression, correct mouth, good neck into shoulders & spring of rib, strong quarters, nice bend of stifle. In good coat & condition. When settled moved & showed really well.

PGD (3,1)

1 Poile’s Kedvaiy Hogmanay, brindle, good head & expression, nice neck into shoulders, good in body, coat & condition. Moved & showed very well;

2 Drew’s Tycadno Thriller at L’Artiste, wheaten, nice head & expression, correct mouth, good in body coat & condition. Moved very well. However he lacked a little showmanship today.

LD (5)

1 Shaw’s Honeyhall Headboy, impressive, balanced r/br, beautiful head & expression, dark eye, neat ears, correct mouth, good neck into well placed sloping shoulders, good front, spring of rib & strong quarters. Excellent condition. Moved very well & showed all out. CC & BOB;

2 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again under Macmoon, dark brindle, lovely head & expression, correct mouth, good in body, coat & condition, strong quarters, nice bend of stifle, moved& showed very well. Won over 3 on his presentation; 3 Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Jumbuck.

OD (5,1)

1 Thomas’ Tycadno I Spy, another impressive  balanced young dog, beautiful head & expression, dark eye correct mouth, nice neck into well placed shoulders, good spring of rib, topline & tailset. Correct front, strong quarters, in lovely coat & condition. Showed& moved very well. Very close decision with the CC winner. RCC;

2 Grainger’s Ch Devil In Disguise, a cracking 9 years old red gentleman, lovely head & expression, excellent body, coat & condition, moved very well covering the ground & still a showman. A real credit to his owner & a worthy ch; 3 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Fable under Macmoon.

PB (7,2) A class of promising puppies.

1 Osborn’s Tweslam Born To Bewitch, light red, balanced 9 months old, good head & expression, dark eye, neat ears, correct mouth, nice neck into well placed shoulders. Good outline, coat & condition. Moved& showed very well;

2 Roberts’ Canwood Special Moment, lovely feminine head& expression, nice body & outline, very good coat & condition. Moved very well & showed confidently. Has time & hope she grows on. 1& 2 just pipped 3 on maturity; 3 Thomas’ Tycadno Morning Star.

JB (1)

1 Morley’s Canwood Here’s Hetty, wheaten. Pretty feminine head & expression, correct mouth, nice body, in excellent coat & condition, well presented, moved positively & showed really well.

PGB (6)

1 Smee’s Malmay Sunshine Sally, very attractive balanced dark brindle, lovely feminine head& expression, dark eye, neat ears, nice neck into well placed shoulders, good spring of rib, lovely outline, well presented, in excellent coat & condition. I would like a tad more of her. Moved freely & showed very well;

2 Hewitt’s Littleacorn Aliye, another attractive lovely Cairn, lovely head& expression, correct mouth, good neck into well placed sloping shoulders, good in body & outline, moved very well fore & aft. Would benefit if paced a little faster to allow her to really cover the ground. Excellent coat& condition, showed very well; 3 Keeves’ Seveek I Dreamed A Dream.

LB (1)

1 Laker’s Anjofra Nobody’s Perfect at Wizoz, a light red 7 years old enjoying her day out. Nice head & expression, correct mouth. In very good coat which was well presented. Covered the ground & showed well.

OB (7,1) Splitting hairs on the placings in this class of quality. Two Cairns reacted strongly to the ground in the ring, one flatly refusing to walk on it, the other thought it great to play on.

1 Alexander’s Ir Ch Stirlingview Peggy Sue, r/br, entered the ring with real style. Lovely feminine head & expression, dark eye, good stop, correct mouth, nice reach of neck into sloping shoulders. Good front, body & strong quarters. In excellent coat & condition & most eager to please her handler, Moved extremely well coming & going. Powered around the ring & showed all out. Close decision when challenging for BOB. CC;

2 Keeves’ Ch Seveek Living The Dream, one I admired as a junior& she has now matured into a worthy ch. Lovely head & expression, good eye & stop, correct mouth, nice neck into well placed sloping shoulders, good front, rib, body & strong quarters. Coat not quite at its best today. Moved true fore & aft. Covered the ground & showed extremely well. RCC; 3 Hewitt’s Littleacorn Stay In Touch.
