Many thanks to the Midland Cairn Terrier Club for inviting me judge
their Championship Show. Veteran Dog or Bitch 6,3a 1. Clarke’s Ch Conundrum Sweeter For
Me For Lentrica,
a feminine dark brindle bitch in good form, liked her head with her dark eye
& well placed ears which gave her a wicked expression, typical in make
& shape, good harsh coat, moved freely & showed very well. 2. Parkin’s Roachdee Mystery of The Full
Moon, a red dog, typical in outline, nicely balanced in body, pleasing head
& expression, moved with drive, a touch wide in front. 3. Burgin’s Noncom Miss Hat He Chewed Minor Puppy Dog
4,0a 1. Clarke’s Svendalens Perseverance With
Lentrica, a promising
9mths brindle dog, appealed in outline, Typical in head, well bodied with
good harsh coat, moved freely &
showed well, everthing in the right place at the moment, just needs to
tighten up in front & develop, one I shall watch him with interest. Best
Puppy In show 2. Inett,
Harrison, King & Leighton’s Carradine George Flies with
Harkinleig, a 7 mths wheaten
brindle with lots to like, good in make & shape, well proportioned, moved
with purpose, again an interesting one with a future, just thought today that
the winner was a touch more masculine overall. 3. Marshall’s Brenndarcy Lord Marmaduke
Avec Strathgarten Puppy Dog 1,1a Junior Dog 4,0a 1. Catto’s Nordcairn’s Once Upon A
Time At Birselaw, a dark brindle one with a typical
masculine outline, liked his head & keen expression, dark eye, well
placed ears, big spring of rib, good front & bone, correct level topline
& big spring of rib, strong quarters, correct harsh coat, moved
steadily. 2. Peers’ Tweedisle Relight
My Fire, a red dog with the desired dark points,
lighter in build than the winner but nonetheless still very much a male,
pleasing in head, fair reach of neck, level topline, moved freely. 3. Keeves’ Seveek Double Dice Novice Dog 2,0a 1.Wright’s Glenmont
Nicodemus (Imp)
an active red dog with good harsh
coat, dark eye & well placed ears, level topline, would prefer a better
front & feet, moved with drive. 2-
Purvis’s Mighty Rearrager with Mosspur, a cream balanced dog, ample bone
for size, has fair reach of neck & good shoulders, needs more experience. Graduate Dog 4,0a 1. Percy’s Winetta Sir Ivor, a typical silver brindle one, nicely
balanced throughout, masculine head & expression, good neck &
topline, correct tailset, moved with drive, steady showman, just needed more
coat to complete the picture. 2. Bradshaw
& Shannon’s Newfield Harvest Moon Over
Brenndarcy, a dark
brindle dog who probably had a touch too much coat, good masculine head, fair
reach of neck, big spring of rib, well made quarters, moved freely. 3. Drew’s Tycadno Thriller at L’Artiste Post Graduate Dog
4 ,0a 1. Shannon &
Stoor’s Brenndarcy Limited Edition,
a harsh coated red dog, typical in make & shape, pleasing head &
expression, in good condition, showed & moved well. 2. Waugh’s Tribannon War
Dance, a cream dog with a typical
head & expression, correct front, level topline, moved freely, lacked the
showmanship of the winner. 3. Day’s Cherrycrack Ludo At Trekhilli JW Sh.CM Limit Dog
6,0a 1. Inett &
Engebretsen’s Carradine Dexter,
a quality dark brindle dog that was presented in excellent coat &
condition, has a good head & keen expression, fair reach of neck, good
shoulders, well developed body, correct tailset, strong quarters, moved
freely & with purpose, super showman and one that will never be over
looked. 2. Mears’ Glenmear Magee, an appealing wheaten brindle dog
that was soundly made, liked his head, balanced outline, pleasing harsh coat,
at just over 2yrs I still think there is time for him mature, moved freely. 3. Waites’ Svendalens Snow
Knight Open Dog 6,0a A hotly contested class, which was won by 1. Catto’s Ch Birselaw The Thrill Of It All, a very well known champion,
who really needs no comment from me, he has many fine attributes and he
looked a picture of health & condition, he did everthing that was asked
& I’m pleased to have the pleasure to judge this outstanding example of
the breed, ultimately won the Dog CC & Best in Show 2. Shaw’s Ch Honeyhall Headboy, grey brindle dog of quality, also
has an impressive head & expression, fair reach of neck, correct well
laid shoulders, pleasing in body, moved freely & with drive, also in
great condition, pushed the winner all the way, I think given a touch more
time he will finish up even better. Reserve CC & Reserve Best in show. 3.Thomas’s Ch Tycadno I Spy Special Beginners Dog
or Bitch 5,1a 1. Waites’Seveek Snow
Angel with Svendalens, an attractive cream bitch with a
dark eye, defined stop, neat ears, pleasing in make & shape, good harsh
coat, moved freely, showed well. 2.Purvis’s Svendalens
Memoire Cherie, a balanced silver brindle with
feminine head & expression, also in good form. 3. Melia’s Carradine Minnies
Magic Minor Puppy Bitch 6,2a 1. Inett &
Harrison’s Carradine Connies
Kirsty, I liked this 6
months old wheaten brindle one very much, pretty head & expression,
feminine in body & outline, good coat & condition, moved confidently
for one so young, showed to advantage.
2. Waite’s Specialy Designed By Svendalens, another wheaten, slightly taller than the
winner, has a dark eye, well placed ears, pleasing outline, moved
soundly. 3.Day’s Trekhilli Pickled Peppa Puppy Bitch 5,2a 1.Shannon &
Storr’s Brenndarcy Fortune Teller, a balanced grey brindle that appealed
for her very typical outline, good front, nice reach of neck, level topline,
well angulated quarters, moved freely. 2. Waugh’s Tribannon Minuet, a very sound cream bitch, pleasing
dark eye & expression, needs a
new coat & time, as she tends not to make the most of herself. 3.Drew’s Miketos Marvelous Fiona at L’Artiste
(Imp) Junior
Bitch 7,2a 1. Felters &
Rumens’Tweedisle Playing
With Fire At Landbuck, an attractive red bitch, appealing head
& expression, good bone legs & feet, good in make & shape, moved
with drive & showed well, there’s no mistake who her sire is ! 2. Firth’s Cairngold Clara, a red brindle just out of puppy so
giving much away, true feminine outline, well made in body, very alert
showgirl, moved freely. 3.Waites’ Seveek Snow Angel with
Svendalens Novice Bitch 4,1a 1 Specialy Designed By Svendalens 2. Osborn’s Tweslam Mystery of Magic, cream bitch who was in good order,
clean in outline which she kept well on the move, good topline, harsh coat. 3.Melia’s Roachdee Tickle Toffee Graduate Bitch 6,0a 1. Percy’s Winetta Duchess Dora,
a balanced feminine red brindle bitch, liked her dark eye & true
expression, pleasing in body, typical coat, moved freely when settled, at
times too distracted by what her handler had in her hand. 2.Bradshaw’s Newfield
Michaelmas Daisy, a dark brindle one with a typical
outline, keen expression, good spring of rib, well made quarters, moved with
drive, showed ok. 3. Inett,
Harrison & Clayton’s Carradine Secret
Snowdrop Post Graduate Bitch 6,0a 1. Owen’s Caldwall Call
The Shots, a very classy cream bitch with lots
of quality, liked her head with dark eye, neat ears & defined stop, fair reach
of neck, pleasing in body, good quarters, moved freely & handled to
advantage, one to watch as I think given more maturity she will finish up
even better. 2. Peers’Tweedisle April
Beauty, another very sound
cream bitch, pleasing in outline, harsh coat, good bone, level topline, not
the animation of the winner 3. Burgin’s Noncom Solitaire Limit Bitch 5,1a A quality class
where I thought that the first 3, on other occasions could easily change
places. 1. Dolan’s Glenrood Magic Spell,
a very feminine dark brindle bitch that oozes quality as one expects from
this exhibitor, liked her overall balance & she is well made throughout,
lovely head & expression, moved freely & with drive, she was well
presented with a harsh coat, handled well, Reserve CC today, another I
believe will finish up even better.
2. Petts’ Doonrae Lexicon of Love, a well made brindle bitch who has
lots to like, appealing size, true in head & expression fair reach of
neck, well laid shoulders good spring of rib, correct tailset, moved with
drive, good coat & condition. Just lost out on showmanship to the
winner. 3. Shannon &
Storr’s Brenndarcy Dizzee Rascal Open Bitch 5,1a 1. Felters &
Rumems’Ch Landbuck Xanthe,
a quality cream bitch, not overdone in any way, liked her head & feminine
expression with a lovely dark eye & well placed ears, good bone, legs
& feet, very pleasing in body, strong well made quarters, when settled
her free flowing movement was a pleasure to watch, she was well presented
with a full harsh coat, showed well with enthusiasm although occasionally she
tended to drop her tail however her appeal easily outweighed this, a pleasure
to award her the Bitch CC. 2. Osborn’s Tweslam Thistle Be Magic,
a classy red brindle bitch, typical in head & expression, good neck &
shoulders, fair spring of rib, moved & showed well, good in outline,
correct coat, another exhibit that deserves her title. 3. Bateman &
Inett’s Carradine In Love With
