Critique

I would like to thank my colleagues on the committee of North of Ireland Cairn Terrier Club, for the invitation to judge, the Show Secretary Karen Magee, my stewards Billy and Teresa, and especially all those who entered and supported the show.

The day was very enjoyable and I was generally impressed with the quality in the entry, particularly with the main winners.

Weight seems to be becoming an issue, and it is definitely beginning to affect overall movement at both front and back.

Best in Show was the Bitch, Alexander's Ir Ch Stirlingview Peggy Sue, with Shaw's Ch Honeyhall Headboy winning the Dog CC and taking Reserve Best in Show. The Best Puppy came from the Puppy Bitch Class, Hogarty's Cadagio The Show Must Go On.

Minor Puppy Dog

1 Alexander's Stirlingview Shake the Dice

A striking wheaten dog pup, with lovely dark points on his ears and dark hazel eyes giving him a very typical Cairn head. He had well sprung ribs and a correct level back. He moved well and with very strong rear movement.

2 Anderson’s Birselaw Never Say Never at Kerrykeel

A nice brindle dog, well-proportioned with good length of neck, leg and back. He moved well at the rear, had a good length of leg and good bend of stifle. He didn’t settle as well in the ring as 1.
