Cairn critique Bath 5/27/16
Thanks to all the cairn exhibitors for their kind patience as I "learned" the English way of running the ring,  That is very different than what we Americans are used to but indeed works well once you understand the system.

My Cairns did not disappoint and although the entry was small, there were many examples of typical specimens and a variety of choices to be made.  These observations are mine alone and could have been different on another day as we do know that dogs have good and bad days just like us!  I generally found correct sized animals of good moderate proportions, pleasing heads with nice big teeth and correct bites.  Coats were of all degrees.  Some exhibits had better fronts than others and generally proper toplines and tail sets

Minor Puppy Dog 1,0a

1-1436:  Uniquecottage Silver Askin, Miss Parker-Tucker: Lovely young puppy with plenty of terrier attitude. showing proper proportion, good bone, good coat texture in puppy coat.  moving well.  shows great promise

Junior Dog 4,3a

1- 1451: Nordcairn's Quiero Mucho Of Pendley (imp), Mrs. J.I. Yates & Mrs. J. Johnson : Looking much a Junior Dog of correct outline and size, good shoulder angles with rear to match; pleasing head and eye. guess coming into coat- a bit overgroomed for me but liked well enough for RCC #2-1419: Seveek I Spied That Dream, Mrs. j Keeves: Placed behind #1 as a bit longer in the loin.  Very nice on the move, correct head; showing a longer, open coat

Novice Dog ,9a

1-1446: Castleline Barn Dance, Mr. S. Thompson, pleasing young dog showing correct proportion, good jacket, correct bone, nice on the move. 

Post Graduate Dog 4,3a

1-1437: Uniquecottage Winsford, Miss AR Parker-Tucker: nice mature animal but lacking front fill.  would ask for more stifle angulation.  Nice dark eye and expression

Limit Dog 4,1a

1-1424: Woodthorpe I Know The Code, Mrs. S Kinton; Great type with proper head ratio of backskull to muzzle, correct ear placement, good shape to eye.  found him outstanding in his class
2- 1410 Anjofra RouletteRusse, F.,C.,S., Confue & A Pavlova: Exhibits a bit less bone and body but with good proportion leg to length

Open Dog 3,2a

1-1418: CH. Carradine George Flies with Harkinleigh, JW, Inett, Harrison, King & Leighton. Super specimen with lovely outline, correct head shape with wonderful dark eye and correct ear size and shape. good fill to front and correct rear angle with the proper bone propelling him soundly up and down and around the ring.  Good jacket of correct texture and length.  My eye drawn immediately to him. Honored to reward him with the dog CC and BOB

Minor Puppy Bitch 2,0a

1-1452 Pendley Vivien, Mrs. J.I. Yates & Mrs. J. Johnson: Beautiful puppy with true terrier temperament.  Lovely feminine head on plenty of neck down to good shoulder layback and proper fill in front at her tender age.  Straight front legs. Level topline, Great tail placement on back, carried well. Plenty of second thigh going away.  Coat exhibits good texture. Stands up on herself with proper bone and is so full of herself. RCC
2-1409 Carradine Here Comes Dolly, Miss C.M. Clayton: Very puppy and acting so.  Hopefully will come with maturity. Correct proportions, pleasing expression. Needing more fill in front but I think should blossom!

Puppy Bitch 2,0a

1-1412 Glenrood Burlesque, Mrs. S.E. Dolan, Nice outline with correct proportion of withers to feet to tail.  Head of good shape.  Moved adequately but a baby and will come with age #2-1430 Anglova Trick of Treat, Mr. A.W. Madge, correct size terrier exhibiting good coat texture.  Perhaps a bit too long in loin at this time but moving well for her age

Junior Bitch 4,1a

1-1421 Seveek Hopes 'N' Dreams JW SH CM, Mrs. J. Keeves, Coming from a lovely class of bitches. Looking much the part of Cairn type with proper bone and head expression.  Great coat texture. Did find her a bit longer in loin but she had lots of nice things about her.  CC
2-1443 Splinterhill's Amazing Grace to Glenchess, Mr. S.W.G. & Mr. E.R. Short  Another bitch of good Cairn type moving on good bone coming and going and around.  These two could have gone either way on the day.

Novice Bitch 4,1a

1-1413 Glenrood High Society, Mrs. S.E. Dolan, Bitch of plenty of substance right down to her feet.  Nice head shape with correct eye and ear, lovely coat texture

2-1438 Uniquecottage Florey, Miss A.R. Parker-Tucker.  Felt her muzzle was perhaps a bit shorter to an otherwise pleasing head,  Exhibits good bone.  Giving her handler fits which made her hard to evaluate properly.

Post Graduate Bitch 6,0a

1-1425 Woodthorpe Enigma, Mrs. S. Kinton. Proper outline and proportion. decent head and bone

2-1422 Seveek I Dreamed a Dream, Mrs. J. Keeves..Nice terrier type, moving well, exhibits good bone but coat seemed either coming or going

Limit Bitch 4,1a

1-1448- Cloverbrook Touch of Class At Crowneast, Mrs. S. Tutchings, Loved this bitches hard working condition and her lovely ribbing.  Lovely profile
2-1441- Tweedisle April Beauty, Mr. & Mrs. G.S. & Miss L.E. Peers. Also made very well with good muscling and proper balance.  Coat on its way out

1-1423 Seveek Living The Dream, JW Sh. CM , Mrs. J Keeves, Lovely bitch in hard working condition of good proportion with correct ribbing and body depth.  Moved well Did consider for the CC.
2-1414 Glenrood Scheherazade, Mrs. S.E. Dolan, Great cairn type with a correct front and bend of stifle.  nice expression
