Cairn Terriers – Judge Mrs Julie Petts (Doonrae)

Just a few words firstly to say thank you to my very able stewards who helped the ring run smoothly throughout my judging. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors who brought their dogs for me to go over, I had a most enjoyable day.

MPD (2) 1 abs

1st Day’s Trekhilli Pepperazzi

Dark brindle boy, well up to size for age, I hope he doesn’t grow on too much, a very confident youngster, nice proportions to his head, good ear placement and definite stop. Shown in good coat of correct texture.  Good bone, level topline and good tailset, well muscled, he showed and moved well.

JD (2) 1 abs

1st Parker-Tuckers Uniquecottage Silver Askin

Wheaten Brindle dog, dark points, well set ears and good stop, liked his keen expression well muscled hind quarters, good topline and tailset, double coat of correct texture, nice neat feet & good body condition.  Although he was spooked by something coming into the ring, once he settled I loved his balanced outline. Moved well & showed ok.

PGD (8)  1 absent

1st Shoplands Trekhilli Mister Bean at Cherrycrack

A nicely balanced dark brindle boy, with correct head proportions, neat well set ears, good stop, large teeth. Coat of correct texture, level topline and good tailset, well muscled rear quarters, he flowed around the ring and covered the ground effortlessly. A shame he just seemed to lose his spark when standing in the challenge as I liked him a lot.

2nd Keeves’ Seveek I Spied That Dream

Wheaten brindle with dark mask, strong masculine head, very keen expression, correct topline and tail set, good quality harsh coat, in good body condition, difficult to assess him as he is so exuberant but his movement was good once he settled enough to assess it.

3rd Yates & Johnsons Nordcairn’s Quierro Mucho of Pendley (Imp)

1st Parkins Carradine My Mate Matthew

Grey brindle boy, nice masculine head, large teeth, neck flowing into shoulder, good bone, well sprung rib and supple loin, well muscled hind quarters, coat of correct texture, lots to like about this dog, he moved well both ways and showed attentively. Another who just didn’t have that extra spark in the dog challenge.

2nd Percy’s Winetta Sir Ivor

Dark brindle boy, with masculine head, large teeth, good stop, shown in profuse coat of correct texture. Good level topline and correct tailset. Well muscled quarters. He moved correctly with drive behind but preferred front movement of 1 today.

Red Brindle, another with outstanding masculine head, large teeth, good bone, well sprung ribs and supple loin, good muscle to hind quarter, flowed round the ring with drive.
