My thanks to the Officers and Committee for the invitation to Judge the clubs 77th Championship Show and to the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over their dogs.  A big thank you also to my Stewards, Sharon Confue and Gael Day who kept things running smoothly in the ring throughout the day.

The large ring enabled movement to be assessed easily and it was a little disappointing to find a few exhibits moving either close in front or behind.  On the whole coats were of good quality albeit a little short in some cases.  Temperaments were excellent.

Class 1- MPD (2)

1.      Felter’s & Rumens LANDBUCK MISTER TOM.  Promising cream with dark points, nicely balanced, good length of neck into level topline and good tailset. Drove well from the rear, but needs to tighten a little in front.  Showed well.

2.      Parker-Tucker’s UNIQUECOTTAGE GOLD SHERDOW.  Another promising puppy, good quality red coat, masculine head, good scissor bite.  Nice reach of neck into level topline and well set tail.  Movement difficult to assess - needs time to settle.

Class 2 – PD (4, 2abs)

1.      Shopland’s TREKHILI MR BEAN AT CHERRYCRACK.  Striking 10 month dark brindle with lovely head and expression.  Nicely balanced, good length of neck into level topline.  Excellent quality coat.  Good turn of stifle, driving well from rear, needs to tighten a little in front.  Showed well.  BPD

2.      Thompson’s CASTLELINE SER JAIME.  Light red brindle also 10 months.  Good reach of neck into level topline.  Coat a little short, but quality one coming in. Close decision.

Class 3 – JD (4)

1.      Alexander’s CLOVERBROOK CRACK THE CODE.  17 month wheaten with attractive dark points.  Well balanced, good spring of rib.  Level topline and well set tail.  Good turn of stifle, moved and showed well.

2.      Keeves SEVEEK I SPIED THAT DREAM.  Red brindle, 14 months old.  Well balanced with a good reach of neck into level topline.  Coat not at its best.  Good turn of stifle, moved and showed well.

3.      Saich’s LINDCOLY HOLWING MAD MURDOC

Class 4 – MD (No Entries)

Class 5 – ND (No Entries)

Class 6 – UGD (4, 1abs)

1.      Weinberger’s CORRENIE NO NO ROMEO.  Red brindle with strong masculine head.  Good front and spring of rib.  Level topline into good tail set. Coat short, but of good quality.  Moved and showed well.

3.      Kippen’s CARRADINE DEE JAY OF CHEZAKU

Class 7 – SBD (1,1abs)

Class 8 – GD (2, 1abs)

1.      Parker-Tucker’s UNIQUECOTTAGE WINSFORD.  Smart masculine red brindle with attractive dark mask.  Lovely head with good stop and ear placement.   Good reach of neck into level topline.  Excellent quality coat of good length. Well muscled hind quarters.  Showed well.

2.      Confue & & Pavlova’s ANJOFRA ROULETTE RUSSE.  Wheaten brindle, lovely head with attractive dark points.  Smaller in type than one but nicely balanced.  Well presented with level topline and good tail set.  Moved and showed well.

3.      Kinchin’s PENNIDAZZLE ALL SPRUCED UP

Class 10 – LD (3, 1abs)

1.      Drew’s TYCADNO THRILLER AT L’ARTISTE.   Masculine silver brindle with lovely head and expression.  Felt a good length of neck, but coat so profuse around neck I think he would benefit from taking a little more hair out as so that it does not spoil his outline.   Good Spring of rib, level topline and good tail set.   Showed and covered the ground well. Close decision for Rcc.

2.      Greenhalgh’s CLOVERBROOK SPECIAL EFFECT.  Dark brindle, masculine head, lovely dark eye with good stop and ear placement.  Good reach of neck and spring of rib. Moved well.  Just lacking a little sparkle today.

Class 13 – SV Dog or Bitch (10 years +) (2)

2.      Dolan’s CH. GLENROOD MAGIC SOLITAIRE.  Silver grey brindle bitch.  Good length of neck into level topline.

These veterans had a spring in their step today - both enjoying their day out and once settled, both moved well, close decision.

Class 14 – MPB (5)

1.      Dolan’s GLENROOD HIGH SOCIETY.  Wheaten brindle bitch, just 7 months.  Head still needs time to mature.  Good reach of neck into level topline and well set tail.  Well presented coat of good quality.  Needs a little more confidence on the table, but only a baby, has plenty of time.  Moved well once settled.  Showed well.
