Cairn Terriers Congratulations to the SCCA committee &
their team for such a well organised show. A special thank you to my
efficient stewards. Also for the exhibitors patience when I found it
necessary to move the Cairns quite considerably to allow them the opportunity
to give their best when coping with the difficulties of the ring. The ring
was a very good size, however, the grass had recently been cut & cutting
left, some of which were quite spikey, the ring also had a slope & this
combination was not appreciated by some of the exhibits & generally
affected their movement today. Some Cairns coped very well when they became
accustomed to the ground. I was really pleased with the overall quality &
all Cairns were well presented, tidy but not overtrimmed. Some coats were on
the blow, others coming in nicely. It was also very pleasing to find so many
good & expressive heads. Many of the decisions were so very close. In the
end it came down to placing them on how they coped with the ground and their
animation. On another day & on a firmer ground they could well have been
placed differently. JD (5,1a) 1 Shoplands Trekhilli Mr Bean at Cherrycrack, 14 month old
dark brindle, very good head & expression, correct mouth, nice neck &
lay of shoulders, spring of rib & body, strong quarters, good quality
coat & condition, moved & showed very well; 2 Keeves Seveek I Spied That Dream, another promising
youngster, typical head & expression, correct mouth, good neck into
shoulders, nice spring of rib, good topline & quarters, in good coat
& condition, did not cope quite as well with the ground as 1 today, but
showed very well; 3 Kippens Carradine Dee Jay at Chezaku. PGD (6,1) 1 Weinbergers Correnie No No Romeo, r/br, very good head &
expression, correct mouth, good neck & shoulders, spring of rib, level
topline, strong quarters, covered the ground well & a happy showman; 2 Brennans Cloverbrook I Mean The Business, typical head
& expression, good mouth, pleasing neck into shoulders, nice spring of
rib, good body & topline. He was not happy with the ground today but
showed well; 3 Castleline Barn Dance. LD (6) A strong
class. 1 Weinbergers Correnie Hurricane Fly, nicely balanced r/br,
excellent head & expression, correct mouth, good neck into well placed
shoulders, good spring of rib, front, body & topline, strong quarters,
moved very positively in front, however, when moving away down the slope, his
hind movement was not quite so positive today. An impressive youngster who
pressed hard in the challenge and showed very well. RCC; 2 Mears Glenmear McIntyre, r/br, lovely head &
expression, correct mouth, lovely neck & shoulder placement. Nice spring
of rib, good body & topline, strong quarters. Quality coat coming in,
full of himself & giving his handler a hard time, who did well to manage
to get him settled for a few moments, when he moved very well fore & aft,
before dancing off again; 3 Marshalls Brendarcy Lord
Marmaduke avec Strathgarten. OD 1 Alexanders Ir Ch Stirlingview Shake The Dice, impressive
wheaten with a lovely head & expression, correct mouth, very good neck

neck into shoulders, good spring of rib, body & topline, excellent coat

& expression, nice neck & shoulders, good spring of rib, strong
quarters, moved very positively, well handled. Outshowed third whose handler
uncharacteristically did not get his attention today; 3 Graingers Ch Devil In Disguise. GCD (2) 1 Keeves Ch Seveek Living The Dream, another worthy
champion. Red, 4 year old with a beautiful head & expression, lovely
balance & outline, correct mouth, very good neck into well placed

the ground & showed very well. RCC; 2 Shorts Splinterhills Amazing Grace
to Glenchess, a promising smart dark brindle youngster, typical head &
lovely feminine expression, correct mouth, nice neck into shoulders, good
spring of rib, very good body, front & quarters. In excellent coat &

Fortune Teller, an impressive 2 year old, lovely head & expression,
correct mouth, very good neck into shoulders, good front, well muscled

between her & her handler. Showed very well. OB (4) A strong
class. First & second coped with the ground better than third &
fourth today. 1 Cruzo Capriole, an impressive, balanced silver/br. A most
beautiful typy head & expression, correct mouth, lovely neck into well
placed shoulders, nice spring of rib, level topline & correct tailset,
sound in body, front & quarters. Quality coat & condition, moved away
very positively but returned at the gallop as though she was part of the Charge Of The
Light Brigade. When her handler got her settled she moved true fore &
aft & covered the ground very well. She showed really well in the class,
however, she decided to show her mischievous nature in the challenge,
choosing to have playtime instead of showtime; 2 Braybrooks Cloverbrook Creating Waves, another nicely
balanced lady, lovely head & feminine expression. Correct mouth, nice
