SCOTTISH KENNEL CLUB.
May 22nd 2016. My
thanks to the SKC for their hospitality and also my Stewards, Sheona and
Ellie for keeping the ring running smoothly. The
entry was interesting, quite a variation in size and presentation. There were
many with very upright shoulders
which affected front movement, one or
two very heavy large cairns and conversely a minority that were the very
opposite, small lacking rib and muscle. Coats were clean and only two
dogs had coats full of product which
resulted in dull tacky coat. There
were a few mouths with small teeth and temperament was, as usual,
excellent.,Cairns being third. Apparently
some exhibitors missed their class. There were four breeds scheduled for our
ring, cairns being third. The judges
are only allowed two minutes per dog, in my case one hour twenty minutes,
there is no allownce given for the challenges, or waiting for exhibitors to
come to the ring from the benches. If our breed is last in the ring the judge
is not under as much pressure providing they can declare their Best of Breed
in time for the Group judging. Hope
this info is helpful PD. No entries. JD
(3) 1. Keeve's I Spied That Dream. Masculine red
br. very sound. Liked his head and
expression, good mouth, strong well angulated quarters which enabled him to
move with drive. Quality coat. Gives his handler a hard time, but when
settled moves and shows very well. RCC. 2. Smith's
Roscasovale Distant Drums.
Well balanced , straight topline which he holds on the move, well
angulated rear. Moved well. 3. Catto's Birslaw Stay With Me. PGD
(3:1a) 1. Parkin's
Carradine My Mate Matthew.
Masculine dog, very typical head, pleasing neck and shoulder placement
and tail set, mouth OK, sown in harsh coat, moved well. 2. Catto's
Birslaw Dark Charmer, smaller than 1, has very attractive head, well
balanced, coat not at its best today, prefered front angulation of 1. LD
(6). 1. Marshall's Brenndarcy Marmaduke Avec
Strathgarten. Wh. coat short today but evidence of correct coat coming in.
Typical head with dark eye and ears which enhance expression, well angulated
rear quarters. 2. Percy's
Winetta Sir Ivor, Gr.br. Loved his head and keen expression, balanced
outline, correct tailset, well angulated both ends, move freely. Coat let him down today. 3. Mear's Glenmear Mcintyre. OD
(3) 1. Shaw' Ch. Honeyhall Headboy. This gr.br
impresses as soon as he enters the ring with his very masculine outlook. He has
a beautiful head, with deep stop, good eye and ear placement, well angulated
front and rear, correct depth of brisket and so well balanced throughout,
well muscled quarters enabling him to move with drive and prescision CC and
BOB. 2. Inett, Harrison, King and Leighton's Ch.
Carradine George Flies with Harkinleigh. Another impressive dog. Beautifully
presented dark rd br. Super head and expression, very good neck and
shoulders , topline and tail set, well muscled quarters. Shown in top
condition, just preferred movement of 1. A worthy champion. 3. Lamb and Saltmarsh's Birslaw Dark Charmer. V.D. (4) 1.
Smith's Ch. Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle. This almost ten year old dog is in very
good hard condition, Good head, very mascline expression, well balanced, firm
topline, good tailset a credit to his owner, moved well. 2. Bateman's Dandi Boy Spud. This almost
eight year old gr.br. is well constucted, has a beautiful head, moves well,
shown in correct coat in good condition.. Close decision. 3.
Lamb and Saltmarsh's Birslaw Fable Of Macmoon Sh. CM MPB (no entries) PB. (3: 2a) 1. Waites Svendalens Knight's Passion. WEll
shaped head with correct dark eye, short of furnishings today, coat at the
inbetween stage so looked a bit untidy . Nice outline and turn of stifle ,
but needs to tighten in front. She is still such a baby and maturity will
help. BP. JB (5:1a) 1. Catto's Birslaw Paige Turner.Wh.br
.Balanced outline, well angulated front and rear ,attractive head with
mischievous expression. Sound mover. 2. Keeves Seveek I Spied That Dream. Red
bitch, lovely head, dark eye, good topline and well muscled quarters, moved
well going away but not so positive in front today. 3. Short's Splinterhill's Amazing Grace to
Glenchess. PGB (8:2a) 1. Miller's Cornton Rosemaree. Beautiful eye
catching balanced Wh.br. Best of
heads with feminine expression, good neck, shoulders and topline,
correct tail set. Well angulated
rear. Moved very soundly. Very pleased to award her the RCC. I did consider her for the CC but she just
lost out on maturity. One to watch. 2. Clarke's Lentrica Dolly Daydream. Quality
wh. Well proportioned head , correct shoulder placement, straight topline and
tailset. Correct rear angulation
which enabled her to move soundly. I would like just a tad more length
in back, which for me, would give a balanced outline. 3. Drew's Miketos Marvellous Fiona at
L'Artiste (Imp) LB (4:3a) 1. Waugh's Andrum Brite Side. Very sound Wh.
Very typical head, correct dark eye and neat ears. Front and rear correctly
angulated enabling to move soundly. Coat not at its best today. OB (1) 1. Waugh's Tribannan Minuet. A very nice Wh. full of Cairn spirit, led
her handler quite a dance, but eventually settled down to show off her many
virtues. Beautiful head with enough dark points to show off her feminine
expression, correct length of neck, correct
front and shoulders, straight top line and tailset. Good spring of rib
,well balanced.Moved very soundly. CC. V.B. (1) 1. Dawson's Sybster Sauvignon. Balanced Br.
typical head and good expression. Under a very thick quality coat I found
nice neck and shoulders. She moved OK, showed well and was very responsive to her handler. A very fit
eight year old. Sally
