My thanks to the
Committee for their invitation to judge this show and to my Stewards (Sheeona
Fortune and her niece, Natalie) for their help in keeping proceedings running
smoothly. Most importantly thanks must go to the exhibitors, many of whom
made the long trip to sunny Edinburgh. Although the entry of 24
exhibits was low, there was only one absentee; I was pleased with the overall
quality of the entry. PD
(2, 0 abs) 1 Percy WINETTA QUEST FOR
FAME. A sound, steady 7 month,
grey/brindle young man with good bone, front, coat, head and expression.
Proper bite and good teeth. Moved well, fore and aft and in profile. Very
promising. BPIB 2 Petts DOONRAE PINBALL
WIZARD. Clear red/wheaten, 6 months, in good coat. Good teeth, bite and
expression. Very much a baby; time is on his side. JD No
entries PGD (2, 0) 1 Carter & Clarke
LENTRICA ROCKET MAN AT CARERNWIL. A lovely, balanced, well presented, light
red young dog who caught my eye immediately he entered the ring. Liked his expression, eye, head, stop,
bone. Handled well on the table. Moved soundly with drive and retained his
topline on the move. Spot on tailset. Quality coat. RCC 2 Smith ROCASOVALE DANISH
DELIGHT. Dark brindle, more mature than winner. Another who handled well on
the table. Pleased with his head, expression, top, teeth, bone and coat. A
good, honest Cairn and unlucky to meet the winner in such good form. LD (3, 0). 1 Catto BIRSELAW STAY
WITH ME. A balanced, dark grey dog with a typical head, eye, mischievous
expression. Super neck and shoulders. Big teeth, correct bite. Good rear
angulation so moved with drive and covered the ground effortlessly. Presented
and handled so well. Not yet three
years old and has more to offer. CC,

BRENNDARCY TINSOLDAT. Red dog in good coat. Liked his head, expression, eye,
stop, bend of stifle. A smaller dog
than the winner (not a criticism) and plenty to like about him. He should always be in contention. 3 Miller CORNTON DARK
CORRIE OD (2, 0) 1 Percy WINETTA SIR
IVOR. Balanced, well constructed dark
grey/brindle with good head, eye, stop, bite, teeth, neck, shoulders. A
little naughty on the move which spoilt his chances in the challenge. 2 Smith ROCASOVALE
DISTANT DRUMS. Good sized red/brindle with a good head, mouth and expression.
Perhaps some judicious trimming would improve the overall effect. VD (1, 0) 1 Smith CH ROCASOVALE
RAZZLE DAZZLE. A pleasure to go over this 11 year old Champion. Balanced,
keen eye, expression, good front, in super condition and good form. Moved effortlessly. BVIB PB (1,
0) 1 Petts DOONRAE PRIVATE
DANCER. Soundly constructed 6 month red/brindle with coat of good texture.
Like her brother seemed somewhat overawed but has time on her side. JB (3, 0) 1 Miller CORNTON STARR
TURN. A well coated cream presented in good order. Liked her head, eye, stop,
expression. Level topline, retained on the move. Positive rear movement gave
her the desirable drive; front movement OK. 2 Petts BRENNDARCY HUNKY
DORY AMONG DOONRAE. Feminine, balanced light red, with pleasing head and
expression. Good outline. Handled
well on the table. Moved well but lacked some sparkle today. 3 Confue &
Confue ANJOFRA TZARINA PGB (3, 0) 1 Catto BIRSELAW PAIGE
TURNER. Balanced, red brindle, good coat, and well presented. Looked good
standing and moving. Level topline, correct tailset. Liked her head,
expression, teeth, bite, eye and stop.
Another who I would expect to be in contention for top honours. 2 McGrath & Inett
CARRADINE TINKERBELLE FOR OWENGREAGH. Red/brindle with good mouth, eye, ears,
stop, expression. Correct
tailset. Movement not as positive as
winner. 3 Dawson SYBSTER SAFFRON LB (4, 0) 1 Shannon & Storr
BRENNDARCY CLOUDBUSTING. Charming, feminine, balanced well presented young
lady of quality. Coat of correct texture and length. Appealing expression, liked her eye, ear
placement. Handled well on the table. Kept her topline level in profile and
moved true fore and aft. RCC 2 Percy WINETTA I’VE GOT
A FEELING. Balanced, red/brindle of good type. Typical expression, feminine,
liked her head, eye, stop, teeth and bite. Level topline. Preferred movement
of winner. 3 Miller CORNTON
ROSEMAREE OB (3, 1) 1 Clarke CH LENTRICA
DOLLY DAYDREAM JW. A top quality, balanced bitch who has a beautiful head,
expression, eye (shape and colour) stop, ear placement and mouth. Mischievous
look. Stands and handles so well on the table. Coat at its best. Moved with
that all important drive and sense of purpose. Simply didn’t put a foot
wrong. CC, BOB. I was delighted to
hear she went on to win Group 1. Many congratulations. 2 Confue & Confue
ANJOFRA MAD ABOUT ME. Feminine grey/brindle, in good coat and condition.
Liked her head, expression, mouth and eye. Moved steadily and held her
