DARLINGTON DOG SHOW 14th SEPTEMBER 2019 CAIRN TERRIERS Thank you to Darlington Dog Show
Committee for the invitation to Judge the Cairn Terriers. Thanks also to Ian
and Tom, my stewards who kept things in order. I found that mouths are a bit of a
problem at present and that there were quite a few with dirty canine teeth.
Movement is still a worry, temperaments were good. Many thanks to you the exhibitors for
your entries and for your sportsmanship. The Breed at present seems to have
lost its way, let’s see if we can work as a team and pull together for our
fabulous Cairns, their future is in our hands. VETERAN DOG
- 1 (0) Lamb & Saltmarsh – Renshaw There and Back Again
Under MacMoon Sh.CM VWR. Just shy of his 9th birthday. Dark
Brindle in excellent coat and condition, lovely masculine head, good depth of
rib, level topline, which he kept on the move, tail set well on. Well muscled
hindquarters, which gave him the drive to move around the ring. Best Vet. MINOR PUPPY DOG – No Entries PUPPY DOG - 1 (0) Williams – Glenchess High Fidelity for Sarsen. 11
month old wheaten brindle. A bit short on coat at present, and together with
the wet grass it made him look all legs. Good masculine head, with a good
mouth, correct, ear placement a bit wide. Good length of neck, level topline
and good tail set. Well muscled hind quarters, but a little close behind.
Handled well. JUNIOR DOG - 2 (1) Felters & Rumens - Landbuck Kingsman. Still
quite a youngster at 14 months, and needs to concentrate, however he is a
very handsome dog, love his outline and conformation. He has a fabulous Cairn
head and expression. Good length of neck, level topline and well set on tail.
Strong hindquarters, however he has a tendency for his front movement to go
wayward when he plays his handler up. He was worthy enough to be awarded the
R.C.C. POST GRADUATE DOG - 2 (1) Lamb & Saltmarsh – OSW Birselaw Come Dancing
with Macmoon Sh.CM shCEx. Grey Brindle in the best of coats. Nice head and
expression. Level topline and good tailset. Well muscled with strong hind
quarters. Handled and showed well. LIMIT DOG - 3 (1) 1.
Firths’ – Cairngold Chico JW. Clear red in the best of
coats and very well presented. Well balanced and striking outline. I am aware
that he is now a champion, so there’s not a lot I can say about this young
dog. I personally would prefer him a
little bit bigger, however he shows his socks off and is a sound mover. 2.
Millers – Cornton Fyne Fettle. Wheaten brindle in good coat. Not such a showman as 1. Good
topline and tail set. Not as good front movement as 1, strong hind quarters. OPEN DOG - 7 (1) 1.
Kintons – Ch.
Woodthorpe I Know the Code. Dark brindle in excellent coat. Fabulous
masculine head and expression with correct mouth, eye and ear placement. He
was on his toes today and moved around the ring with ease and at one with his
handler. Well muscled hind quarters that propelled him around the ring
effortlessly. Well deserved C.C. and B.O.B. 2.
Saich K. Lindcoly Holwing Mad Murdoc. Wheaten dog in good
coat with correct texture. Head not as good as 1. Good topline and
tailset. Well muscled quarters,
moved and showed well. 3.
Waughs – Ch. Tribannon Karamak. VETERAN BITCH – 1 (1) Absent MINOR PUPPY BITCH – 1 (0) Firths’ -
Cairngold Chiquitita 6months and 1 day old, clear red. What a little
star. Even though she stood alone she stole the stage. Very feminine head
with that cheeky Cairn expression. Everything in proportion, and I know it’s
early days, but she has a lot going for her. She thoroughly enjoyed her
outing and really set the bar high. She moved better than a lot of the
adults. A well deserved Best Puppy in Breed. PUPPY BITCH – 2 (1) Kintons – Cloverbrook Unbreakable at Woodthorpe. 9
months old wheaten brindle. Feminine head, excellent mouth, good length of
neck, level topline and good tailset. Her coat wasn’t at its best today. Very
well muscled hind quarters. Moved well when settled. JUNIOR BITCH – 2 (1) Millers – Cornton Eilidh Dhu. 14 month old grey
brindle, nice type in excellent coat. Feminine head and expression, good
mouth. Liked her overall appearance, but not as positive in her rear movement
as 1. POST GRADUATE BITCH – 4 (0) 1.
Ballingers –
Cloverbrook Maid for Gold. Grey brindle, with a very feminine head and
expression. Excellent coat not over trimmed. Best of conformation, lovely
length of neck, good topline, which she kept on the move. Best of movers as
she went with drive around the ring making it look effortless. Showed well
for her handler. Res. C.C. 2.
Saich Mr & Mrs – Lincoly Howling Whoopee. Light red,
another in good coat. Very feminine head, excellent mouth. Moved and showed
well. 3.
Lund’s – Cairngold Brandy Snap. LIMIT BITCH – 2 (1) Saich Mr & Mrs – Lindcoly Let’s Just Talk. Red
in good coat. Good depth of brisket, level topline and good tail set. Well
muscled hind quarters. Showed well. OPEN BITCH – 4 (3) Hughes & Hootons – Penticharm Party Popper. A
well presented wheaten in good coat. Such a lovely feminine head. Good mouth,
correct eye, and neat dark ears. Kept her topline throughout. Moved with
drive and animation. Bitch C.C. Mrs Chris Roberts Judge |
