SKC May – postponed to 1 October – Cairn Terriers We had a very long wait before we could enter the ring and I am sure
that this was to the detriment of some exhibits, particularly the puppies,
who had had a long day. PD (1) 1 Shannon, Storr & Middlehurst’s Brenndarcy It’s Magic – cream
youngster, smart and showy. Good Cairn
expression with nice dark eye and strong muzzle, correct bite. Good bone, straight front, good depth of
brisket for one so young. Powerful
hindquarters which gave excellent rear drive.
I loved him and predict a fantastic future for this young lad. BP J D (1) 1 Munday’s Lentrica Mystic Warrior – Quality grey brindle with a very
strong, male head, broad skull. Used
his ears well. Conformation all A1 in
all respects. Well ribbed and strong
loin. Adequate length of neck. Well muscled rear. Moved true and showed well and co-operated
with his handler. ND (0) PGD (2,1) 1 Keeves’ Seveek Carry On The Dream – red brindle with a nice head with
good stop. Eyes correct as was his
mouth. A balanced male but I would
prefer more depth of brisket. Very
happy showman, wagging his tail all the time.
Movement was a bit erratic, needs to settle. LD (6,2) 1 Dennis, Goddard & Waites Good Times Ahead with Oudenarde – and I
do think there are good times ahead for this upstanding two year old red
brindle. He is not a small one by any
means but his other qualities are excellent.
Strong male head with broad skull and
powerful muzzle. Mouth correct
with large teeth. He is well balanced
with a level topline which he kept on the move. He is fit with an excellent coat. Very well presented. He moved true both ways, very positive, and
showed with animation. RDCC. 2 Inett & Harrison’s Carradine In ‘n Out Mr Sprout – dark brindle
male, smaller than winner. Excellent
head with true Cairn expression.
Strong in body with supple loin.
Straight front and good depth of brisket. Excellent hind angulation. A happy showman. Preferred balance of
winner. 3 Miller’s Cornton Fyne Fettle OD (2,1) 1 Felters and Rumens’ Landbuck Kingsman – dark brindle male of correct
size and so well balanced. As the
Standard says he is medium in all respects.
Loved his head, short muzzle and broad skull, correct eye and neat
ears used well. Adequate neck with
good flow into clean shoulders. Level topline and well ribbed. Back of medium length. Well muscled rear with correct
angulation. In excellent double coat
which was well presented. Stood four
square and was a very happy showman.
Good rapport with handler.
Moved out confidently displaying excellent rear movement. DCC. VD (1) 1 Lamb and Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Dark Charmer for Macmoon Sh Cm – 7 year
old grey brindle who presented a nice clean outline with a level topline and
correct tailset. Typical head and
expression. Straight front and nice
lay of shoulder. Medium in all
respects and so well balanced and of correct size. In very fit condition. Lively showman. SBD & GCD – 0 PB (6) 3 nice pups in this class, 2 and 3 felt the pressure of the long
day I fear. 1 Waugh’s Glory Daze at Tribannon – cream bitch who excels in her
showmanship. She presents a beautiful
outline and always stands four square.
Pretty, feminine head with dark eye for one so light. Good reach of neck into clean
shoulders. Level topline which she
kept on the move. Tail carried
correctly at one o clock. Well sprung
ribs, well muscled rear. I liked her a
lot but wouldn’t want her any bigger.
Moved out well. 2 Osborn’s Be Gin The Magic – Very feminine red puppy with the prettiest
of heads. Good dark eye and neat
ears. Good, but not too much bone,
nice flow of neck into clean shoulders.
Medium in body and very well balanced.
Correct rear angulation with nice bend of stifle. Moved true in front and with drive in the
rear. Liked her size and femininity,
just lost out on showmanship but I am sure that with maturity this will come. 3 Percy’s Winetta Frankly My Dear JB (3,1) Close decision between these first and second. 1 Doonrae Rebel Rebel Among Brenndarcy – well built red brindle with a
beautiful head and keen expression.
Her head is so well balanced with the correct proportions. Neat ears and good mouth. Adequate but not too much neck, strong back
and supple loin. Moved out well on
good legs and feet. Ideal in size for
me. Profuse coat of correct harsh
texture and in good condition. Can be
a handful for her handler. 2 Jobling’s Arion Full of Sass – upstanding light red bitch who has a
lot going for her. Pretty head with
typical Cairn expression. Nice reach
of neck into clean shoulders, level strong back, stood well forward on
forepaws with such a good, natural stance. Nice bend of stifle, hocks well
let down. Good coat condition, moved
OK when settled. NB (1) 1 Osborn’s Tweslam Days of Magic – red bitch of correct size and excellent
proportions. Feminine head, dark, neat
ears. Straight front, level topline,
good rear angulation. Good bone. A
first rate showgirl who moved out well. A very well balanced bitch, nothing
overdone, as it should be. PGB (3,1) 1 Petts’ Rasken’s Joan Jett for Doonrae (Swed Imp) – quality, stylish
red bitch who was very smart and showy.
Presented a lovely clean outline, conformation in all respects
A1. Appealing head and expression and
she used her ears well. Nice depth of
brisket, level back of medium length, tailset correct. Moved true and showed
with animation. One to watch. 2 Keeves’ Seveek Everlasting Dream – I would describe this bitch as
“workmanlike.” Upstanding and she
certainly looks as though she could do a hard day’s work, very fit and in
good condition. Well made body with
good spring of rib. Has a good reach
of neck with some flow, which I like to see.
Lovely outline. Her coat is
coarse but short. She moved out well. LB (2) 1 Munday’s Lentrica Dolly Mixture at Carernwil – grey brindle bitch of
nice size. Lovely Cairn type and very
well presented. Loved her head and
expression. Drove out well from
behind. Perhaps carrying a bit too
much weight today. 2 Miller’s Cornton Fyne Hope – grey bitch who showed particularly well,
responding well to handler, using her tail well. Nice head with dark points. Sporting a very profuse coat which perhaps
detracted from her overall appearance, making her neck seem shorter than it
was. OB (7,3) 1 Kinton’s Cloverbrook Unbreakable at Woodthorpe – quality dark brindle
bitch of excellent type. Has a really
feminine head with typical Cairn expression.
Straight front, strong body, deep in rib, supple in loin. Nicely angulated and muscled rear, low
hocks. Nice size with adequate
daylight underneath, well balanced.
She is another who stands four square and shows herself off so
well. Moved true in front and with
strong rear propulsion. In good coat
and condition, well presented. BCC/BOB 2 Inett, Harrison & Clayton’s Carradine Jo – very similar to winner
in so many respects but perhaps a little longer in back. Lovely reach of neck into clean
shoulders. Loved her expression, so
mischievous. Her coat was of excellent
condition and she showed and was handled very well indeed. RCC. 3Dolan’s Whispers of Dawn at Glenrood
