OUR  STEWARDS

Midland Cairn Terrier Club Championship Show  (2021 re-sched)

Saturday 3rd September 2022

I would like to thank the committee of the Midland Cairn Terrier Club for inviting me to judge their show. I feel it is always an honour to judge at a breed club specialist show.

I find it very sad how the numbers of Cairns are decreasing for one reason or another. My main general observations were that the general overall quality appears to be diminishing. Some were a bit too heavy which will spoil their outline with increasing age. I found a few suspect mouths and movement as always is still cause for concern. The latter not helped by the lack of depth in chest & narrow fronts.

I was pleased with my overall winners.

Lastly, Thank-you to all the exhibitors and for my experience stewards – Sharon Confue & Chris Petts.

VETERAN DOG or BITCH (7yrs & over). 4 Entries, 2 Absent.

1st - Lamb & Saltmarsh, BIRSELAW DARK CHARMER FOR MACMOON Sh Cm VW Grey brindle of 8 years. Very nice to handle on table. Good head & expression. Liked his neck & shoulders with level topline. Well-muscled hindquarters and moved soundly. Best Veteran
