CAIRN TERRIER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

It was an honour and a pleasure to be invited to judge this show, thank you to the Officers and Committee.  On my first visit to this show  I accompanied the judge Mrs Heery, a couple of years later 1988  I showed a pup there which I had purchased from Carole Templeton - Larchlea Show Off who some of you may remember was very naughty in the ring!  I have such fond memories of going to the show many times after that!

A big thank you to Willie and Sheona who were an excellent taxi service  and to my steward thank you for efficiently overseeing the ring.

It was a lovely entry and I greatly appreciated the exhibitors for attending and showing their cairns under me!  The photographs on line were very good - thank you Alan!

 

VD Lamb & Saltmarsh Birselaw  Dark Charmer for Macmoon

1. Grey brindle with an expressive head he is a very nice cairn, well muscled who moved well light on his feet BV

2. Inert Harrison Drinking & Leighton Grey brindle another with a truly lovely head and well constructed not quite as positive moving as 1

 

MPD Saich Lindcoly Mr Sunshine

1 so aptly named! Seven months red excellent coat correct head and expression difficult to assess his movement however he enjoyed himself more in the challenge hope he starts to enjoy shows he is worth preserving with !

 

PD Clarke Furythor Mr Bojangles

1. Smart grey brindle good head neat ears bite ok lovely expression correct neck & shoulders top line tail set and length of back ok good bone moved soundly  - a handful !

2. Young Furythor Orion litter brother to 1 correct coat coming he hasn't quite the expression or the balance of his brother yet but he catches your eye for his type and he didn't settle but moved ok when he put his mind to it

3. Saich Lindcoly Mr Sunshine - he was beginning to enjoy!

 

JD Hogarty Cadagio Another Day In Paradise

1 Correct red coat coming very typical head and keen expression bite ok good shoulders level top line length of back and tail set ok well muscled strong hind quarters but not overdone moved soundly proud of his tail at times well deserved RDCC

2 Jones Tycadno Tom Foolery

12 months on the day - Wheaten with an outstanding head and expression desired dark points front ok with good fore chest  dead level top line and correct tail set well muscled quarters moved well when he settles a lovely young boy who in challenge for BP had his mind on other things shame !

3 Waugh Swing Dancer at Tribannon

Red brindle lovely head eye ok good front level top line and tail set ok correct coat coming enough bone moved soundly very smart well schooled and handled

 

PGD Waugh Glenrood Galaxy at Tribannon

1 Very much a male grey brindle typical head and expression correct neck and shoulders strong top line tail set ok plenty of bone didn't cooperate with handler at first but eventually moved ok

 

LD Young Lentrica Mystic Warrior

1 Grey brindle keen expression plenty of stop correct bite shoulders top line tail set ok moved soundly with ease balanced has attitude nice boy

2 Shannon Storr & Middlehurst Brendarcy It's Magic

Light red correct head & expression front ok level top line tail set good muscled quarters light on his feet his hind movement not as good as 1

 

OD Firth 1 Ch Cairngold Chico red who excels in head and expression neat ears set on well correct neck and shoulders level top line tail set ok well muscled quarters stood well forward creating a lovely outline a real cairn couldn't deny him DCC today and RBIS

2 Inett & Harrison Ch Carradine In Out Mr Sprout Dark brindle with an expressive head nice eye neat ears level top line good tail set coat ok I would prefer just shade more leg for perfect balance nevertheless a lovely boy

3 Waites Goddard Good Times Ahead With Oudenarde

MPB C & L Saich 1 Lindcoly Perfect Picture wheaten with a pretty head good stop and eye correct front top line tail set ok moved true liked her balance standing well forward

2 Inett & Harrison Carradine Laura We  Luv're red brindle lower to ground than 1 good coat coming correct head top line and tail set ok moving wide in front and not such a positive outline as 1 -

PB 1  Young Furythor Marvel At Me grey brindle feminine head with lovely expression well placed ears good neck and shoulders level top line & tailset good bone moved steadily with drive nice outline well handled put down to perfection BPB BP

 2  C & L Saich Lindcoly Walking In Memphis wheaten brindle feminine head just needs more furnishing good bone correct front topline ok tailset hard to asses well muscled and moved ok good coat

3 A Saich Lindcoly Here Comes Oh Shi

 

JB 1 Dennis & Waites Svendalens Snow Drop just one y/o still looking immature very pretty head which more furnishing will enhance correct bite balanced outline would prefer more for forechest moved hesitantly

 

YB Felters & Rumens Birselaw Caol at Landbuck

1. Dark red brindle really gorgeous head and expression lovely eye good neck into correct shoulders level topline and correct tailset firm muscle moved with drive tendency to sink down when relaxed, on her toes creates a lovely outline RBCC

2 Firth Birslaw Cora at Cairngold litter sister to 1 grey brindle lovely head neat ears correct eye good front level topline tailset ok could be slightly longer in back for balance

 

NB 1 Inett Harrison Bateman  Carradine Precious Pumpkin Pie red brindle typical cairn expression more head furnishing will complete, correct bite good forechest deep rib cage, neck shoulders topline tailset correct very smart on the move

2 Goskirk Carrach Asliesk Lady

wheaten brindle expressive feminine head good neck & shoulders level topline well muscled moved well but overawed in the ring nice type

 

PGB Percy Winetta Frankly My Dear

Wheaten glorious head neat well placed ears bite ok good neck shoulders standing well forward nice bone level topline tailset ok moved true I would prefer a little more leg for perfect balance

 

LB 1 A Saich Lindcoly Ocean Dream Grey brindle  lovely head correct eye & bite standing well forward good shoulders  plenty of forechest level topline tailset ok nice balance  moved with ease

2  Saich Lindcoly Maleficent Mo the only difference to her kennel mate is colour she had all the attributes of 1 a very difficult decision they both deserved to win

 

OB 1 Waugh Ch Glory Daze at Tribannon such a pleasure to judge this girl she really excels in breed type  is balanced has an exquisite head is correct all through and moves with ease a lovely cairn  loved her BCC BOB

2 Hogarty Ch Cadagio Your One Of Us another who excels in head and expression lovely outline standing lots to like great showgirl made so well a lovely cairn not so positive moving away today a pleasure to go over her

3 Miller Cornton Fyne Hope
