#CAIRN JUDGE MIDLAND COUNTIES 23

Temperaments were excellent and there were several exhibits in both dogs and bitches for whom I

could have happily signed a CC. My thanks go to the stewards, Paula Meacham and John Finney

for their sterling service in the ring.

Junior Dog Entries: 2

1st Place - Carradine Ayre Friar (Mrs D H & Miss R A Inett & Harrison). Good breadth of skull,

keen expression. Well bodied with deep ribs and some breadth and strength over the loin. Free

moving and sound both out and back. His very good coat texture just gave him the advantage

here today.

2nd Place - Cannwood Moonlight Shadow (Mrs C M Roberts). A really good showman who made

the most of his chances here. Another free moving soundly made dog. Attractive head, sufficient

neck and good topline and tailset. Shown in good coat which could be a shade harsher for

perfection.

Post Graduate Dog Entries: 2

1st Place - Seveek Country Lad (Miss R C & Mr I A Lucas & Tobutt). Typey and well balanced with

an alert, keen expression. Good furnishings. Pleasing forehand with good bone. Harsh, double

coat. A good mover with particularly good hind action.

2nd Place - Cloverbrook Game Set Nmatch (Mrs J Ballinger). A lovely character and has some

quality. Grand head and expression. Well ribbed with a good topline and well-set tail. Moved

soundly and shows to best advantage.

Limit Dog Entries: 2

1st Place - Furythor Mr Bojangles by Lentrica (Mrs P Clarke). Beautifully balanced with a harsh,

double coat. Sturdy and agile with a good body. Free moving and he too has particularly good

hind action.

2nd Place - Lentrica Mystic Warrior (Miss S C & Miss E S Munday). Masculine and just a fraction

heavier all through. Grand head and expression, excellent dentition with good sized teeth. Well

laid shoulder and good spring of rib. Strong, well-muscled hindquarters. Good quality jacket.

Open Dog Entries: 6

1st Place - Ch Cairngold Chico JW (Mr A, Mrs L & Miss A M Firth). CC. A smashing dog of lovely

type and quality. Very well balanced and pleasing to handle as he is well made all through. Keen,

alert expression with a dark, sparkling eye. Good furnishings. Great depth rib and good body.

Excellent coat texture, probably the best of the day. Large, white teeth. Strong hindquarters with

good muscle tone. Moved out well.

2nd Place - Tycadno Tom Foolery (Mrs J A & Mr G Jones & Arnold). Reserve CC. Beautifully

balanced and so typical. Masculine but not coarse. Good breadth of skull, dark eye and good ears,

lovely expression. Good coat with dark points. Excellent forehand with well laid shoulders and

good legs and feet. Sturdy, well ribbed body with excellent topline and well-set tail. Free moving

and impressive in profile.

3rd Place - Ch Carradine Arfa Pint JW (Miss L Hiam)

Veteran Dog Entries: 1

1st Place - Birselaw Dark Charmer for Macmoon ShCM VW (Ms J & Mr B Lamb & Saltmarsh). An

old friend of mine whose looks belie his age. Smallish head with good breadth of skull, well-set

ears and a clear dark eye. Good mouth and dentition. Well balanced and very typey. Moved out

well.

Special Beginners Dog Entries: 1

1st Place - Carradine Bumbling Boris (Mrs J A Bingham). Has much to commend him particularly

his very good, harsh, double jacket. Grand head and expression and decent rib. Could have a little

more forechest. Free moving and alert. Best Special Beginner

Minor Puppy Bitch Entries: 1

1st Place - Tycadno Star Attraction at Honeyhall (Mr I Shaw). A really good prospect, just 6 months

but ultra-smart and really on her toes and making the most of herself. Attractive head and

expression, dark hazel eyes, good furnishings for age. Decent forechest, good ribbing and well

bodied with good topline and tailset. Moved out well. Coat developing nicely.

Puppy Bitch Entries: 1

1st Place - Brenndarcy Witches Promise (Miss B & Mr D Shannon & Storr). Best Puppy. Another

promising youngster, very nearly 12 months of age and this maturity gave her the edge in the

challenge for Best Puppy. Showy with a lovely head and expression. Excellent forehand with good

shoulders, decent bone and some forechest and a nicely ribbed body. Well-muscled hindquarters.

Sound and free moving with a very good, harsh, double coat.

Junior Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 1

1st Place - Carradine Picadd Lilly (Mrs D H & Miss R A Inett & Harrison). A good moving, nicely

balanced bitch. Typical expression with good furnishings. Stand well with legs well under her

body. Good ribbing. Shown in good muscle tone. Excellent coat.

2nd Place - Cloverbrook Forget Me Not (Mrs J Ballinger). An attentive and keen showgirl, coat a

little softer than the winner. Shown in excellent condition, pleasing expression and head

properties. Good body with depth of rib and well-set tail. Free moving.

Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 8 Absentees: 1

1st Place - Furythor Marvel at Me (Miss S C & Miss E S Munday). A bitch I considered for top

honours. Beautifully balanced with good breadth of skull, well-set ears and a very pleasing

expression. Soundly made and with a good body and depth of rib. Sound, lively and free moving

with particularly good hind action. Harsh, double coat.

2nd Place - Wandris Please Yourself JW (Miss A Bubb). Certainly has some quality and is

pleasing for both balance and type. Good coat. Keen, alert expression with good dentition and a

strong jaw. Well bodied with some strength over the loin. Moved soundly.

3rd Place - Cannwood Quiet Reflections (Mrs J A Metcalf-Sault)

Limit Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 3

Good class, I thought the first two were of CC quality.

1st Place - Tweslam Be Gin The Magic (Mrs A & Mr A Osborn). Another I seriously considered for

the CC. In great form and condition with a harsh, double coat. Decent skull and she has a lively,

keen expression. Absolutely sound and free moving. Good forehand, well ribbed with good

topline and tailset.

2nd Place - Glenrood Midnight Spell (Mrs S E Dolan). Close up and she too shows to best

advantage. Very nicely made with some forechest, well laid shoulders and a sturdy, well ribbed

body. Nicely muscled hindquarters. Moved well.

3rd Place - Cannwood Can't Get Enough (Mrs J A Metcalf-Sault)

Open Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

1st Place - Ch Glory Daze at Tribannon (Mrs A Waugh). CC & BOB. Quite rugged and workmanlike

but feminine and in excellent coat and condition. Grand head and lovely, alert expression. Stands

well with legs well under the body and she has some depth of rib and strength over the loin.

Excellent topline and tailset. Free moving with very fluid, positive hind action. When it came to the

challenge for BOB her liveliness and vivacity tipped the scales in her favour over a very classy

dog.

2nd Place - Carradine Precious Pumpkin Pie (Mrs D & Miss R A & Mrs R Inett & Harrison &

Bateman). Reserve CC. Very smart and she too moves and shows to best advantage. Good skull,

defined stop and dark, inquisitive eyes. Sturdy, well ribbed body. Good topline and tailset.

3rd Place - Ch Cairngold Chiquitita (Mr A, Mrs L & Miss A M Firth)

Veteran Bitch Entries: 1

1st Place - Cannwood Misty Dawn at Gethlee (Miss J H Smith). A soundly made, good moving

bitch, shown in a good order. Strong, sturdy body, well ribbed and nicely balanced. In the

challenge for Best Veteran her very good harsh jacket just gave her the edge.

Class 420. Special Beginners Bitch Entries: 1

1st Place - Cannwood Can't Get Enough (Mrs J A Metcalf-Sault). Lovely keen, attentive

expression. Dark points. Good topline and tailset. Good depth of rib. Strong hindquarters.

Movement ok.
