Northern Ireland Cairn Club Ch. Show 24th September 2023

Judge: Miss Ann Ingram

Congratulations to the committee on hosting a very friendly show with a

well laid out ring in a bright, welcoming hall and lots of specials on offer.

It was also very enjoyable to sit down with everyone afterwards to enjoy an

impressive spread of scones and delicious tray bakes, well done to all!

Whilst the numbers were disappointingly low, the same could definitely not

be said of the quality with several who would certainly claim top honours in

stiffer competition.

Breed: Cairns

Maiden Dog (1)

1. Carradine Apple Jack (D.H. Inett & R.A. Harrison)

Enthusiastic male with lovely attitude and good harsh coat. Well balanced

head with keen expression and well set ears. Good reach of neck,, good rib

cage, and well let down hocks. He was a bit unsettled on the move which

made him throw his front around and lose his topline but I feel sure that in a

bigger ring, where he could make full use of his powerful movement, he

would look a different dog!

Open Dog (7)(4 )

1. Ir. Ch. & Ch. Cadagio Another Day In Paradise (M. Hogarty) Dog CC and

Reserve Best In Show.

Well balanced dog who scored with his lovely carriage and free movement.

Well balanced head with dark expressive eyes and neat ears. Good reach of

neck with front set well under, excellent topline and strong hindquarters

which he uses so well on the move. Lovely attitude and carriage.

2. Ch. Carradine Arfa Pint (Miss L. Hiam)

Really liked the type of this dog who was well presented with good harsh

coat. Excellent head and expression, well set ears, good reach of neck,

good rib cage and hindquarters, Correct body proportions. Not quite the

carriage and movement of winner but very close decision. Res. C.C.

3.Fr. Ch. Carradine Aedenhoe ( Q. Dectereck)

Very typy dog who was a little over enthusiastic on the move today.

Excellent head and expression, good reach of neck, good ribcage and

topline, just not the front movement of 2 above.

Veteran D/B ( 4)( 2)

1.Ch. Carradine George Flies With Harkinleigh JW. (D.H. Inett, R.A. Harrison,

Dr King & G. Leighton) Best Veteran

Such a lovely type of dog who is still moving so well. Lovely head with keen

expression and neat , well placed ears. Good reach of neck, front set well

under, good rib cage and topline, moved easily keeping his correct outline

and lovely attitude.

2. Mistress Cochan (Miss K. Keegan)

11 year old female still moving so well for her age. Well balanced head with

bright expression and neat ears which she uses well. A touch heavy in neck

and shoulder, but then she is 11 years old, good body and topline, well let

down hocks, really enjoying her day out.

Puppy Bitch ( 3)

1. Carradine Piccad Lilly ( D.H. Inett & R.A. Harrison) Best Puppy Well

presented in good harsh coat who scored in overall maturity . Well balanced

head with correct stop, strong muzzle and neat well set ears. Good front,

good ribcage, excellent body proportions, moved really well with nice

carriage and great attitude.

2. Canwood Midnight Lady (L. Alexander)

Delightful puppy with bags of attitude and moving so well, keeping her

great outline.

Head just needs time to strengthen in muzzle and develop a little more

stop, also needs to grow more coat. Keen expression, front well set under,

strong hind quarters, lovely carriage on the move.

3. Cadagio Lets Get It Started (M. Hogarty)

Eye-catching puppy with great carriage on the move and very nice outline.

Still very raw and looks a touch high on leg and narrow in front, so needs a

bit of time to develop in body, good body proportion, well wet down hocks,

showed her socks off with a lovely attitude.

Postgraduate Bitch (2)(1)

1. Golden Shadow of Loughend (Miss S. Keegan)

Well balanced bitch with great attitude and correct harsh coat. Well

balanced head with dark expressive eyes, could have smaller ears. Good

reach of neck, front set well under, good rib cage, a little high in hocks but is

so very positive on the move.

Limit Bitch (1 )

1. Carradine Precious Pumpkin Pie (Miss D.H. Inett, Mrs R.A. Harrison & R.

Bateman)

Such a delightful character, she charmed me from first sight with her super

attitude, lovely outline and good harsh coat. She is the correct size and so

well balanced throughout.

Wonderful head with the most intense expression, well set ears which she

used all the

time, Good reach of neck, front set well under, correct bone, well sprung

ribs, and good body proportions, moved with great purpose and super

carriage. CC & Best In Show.

Open Bitch ( 3)

1.Carradine Wilma (Miss D.H. Inett & Mrs R.A. Harrison)

Difficult decision between these 2 .Winner scored in ribcage but doesn't

quite have the attitude of 2nd. Attractive head with dark expressive eyes,

neat, well set ears, good reach of neck, could have a little more fore chest,

good topline and body proportions, moved well with nice carriage. Res. C.C.

2. Ir. Ch. & Ch. Cadagio Your One of Us (M. Hogarty)

Very stylish bitch with lovely outline, shown in good coat. Well balanced

head with keen expression, good reach of neck, just a touch high on leg,

Correct body proportions, strong hindquarters, very positive on the move,

keeping her lovely outline. She is a great show girl always making the most

of herself.
