Southern Counties C A Championship Show 2023 – Cairn Terriers

I would like to thank the Society for inviting me to judge Cairn Terriers and also my steward who kept things in order for me. Also the exhibitors for their entry.

MPD (1)

1. McIntyres Macantsaoir Celtic Warrior – dark brindle, lovely head & expression, neat ears used to his advantage. Good mouth and reach of neck. Level topline which he held on the move. Nice, showy dog, just needs more coat to complete the picture.

PD (1, 1 Ab)

JD (2)

1. Yates Johnson’s Pendley Seafarer – Red dog, lovely head & expression, correct mouth & dentition. Good reach of neck, level topline. Coat of good quality. Moved with plenty of drive & showed well.

2. Jones & Arnold’s Tycadno Tom Foolery – wheaten, correct eye and ear placement. Correct in all departments, showed well, not the movement of 1.

GD (2, 1 Ab)

1. Coes’s Kimmi A Coestar – Dark brindle, lovely head, correct dentition, good reach of neck, lovely harsh coat. Nicely bodied, moved & showed well.

PGD (4)

1. Morley’s Kanawha Spy Man – Dark brindle, nice head, correct eye/ear placement. Level topline which showed on the move. Moved & showed well.

2. Keeves’ Seveek Guilded Dream – Red dog, slightly smaller than 1. Nice head, good reach of neck. Profuse coat of good texture, moved & showed well.

3. Lucas & Tobutt’s - Seveek Country Lad

4. Waugh’s Glenrood Galaxy at Tribannon

LD (5, 1 Ab)

1. Hiam’s Carradine Arfa Pint JW – Red brindle, super head, good mouth, correct eye, neat ears, good reach of neck, level topline. Such a showman. Correct tailset. Moved around the ring as if he owned it. Deserved his CC and BOB.

2. Munday’s Lentrica Mystic Warrior – Dark brindle, lovely head, correct eye, ears worked to his advantage. Has all the attributes, moved well.

1. Firth’s Ch Cairngold Chico JW – super red dog. Lovely head & expression, good reach of neck. Level topline, correct tailset, moved with drive. Never stopped showing, pleased to award him RCC.

2. Shannon, Storr & Middlehurst ‘s Brenndarcy It's Magic (ai) – Light red, nicely bodied. Correct tailset, has all the attributes, not quite the movement of 1.

1. Kinton’s Ch Woodthorpe I Know The Code – 9 years old, dark brindle dog, super head & expression. Well bodied, really pulled out all the stops. Real showman, moved well. Best Veteran.

2. Davey & Baillie’s Beranburh Barley Twist – Dark brindle bitch, moved well. Not as showy as 1

3. Smith’s Canwood Misty Dawn at Gethlee

1. Shannon & Storr Brenndarcy Witches Promise – Lovely red bitch, good head, keen eye, correct mouth, nicely bodied. Correct tailset, moved & showed well.

2. Saich’s Lindcoly Ever So Lucky NAF – Red brindle, her first show, handler found it hard to handle her. She has a good mouth, I’m sure she will enjoy the showring soon.

1. Parker Tucker’s Birselaw Floral Dancer of Uniquecottage – lovely red bitch, lovely to go over on the table. Good head, eye & ear placement. Nicely bodied. Has all the attributes of the breed. Moved & showed well.

2. Ballinger’s Cloverbrook Forget Me Not – Grey brindle, liked her a lot but unfortunately her coat was on the blow.

3. Smith’s Cloverbrook Shining Star over Gethlee

1. Kinton’s Ch Cloverbrook Unbreakable at Woodthorpe – Dark brindle, super head & expression, good reach of neck, nicely bodied, correct tailset. I judged her when she was a puppy & she didn’t disappoint today. Was pleased to award her CC.

2. Firth’s Ch Cairngold Chiquitita – Red, super head, nicely bodied, good coat. Level topline which she held on the move, nice showgirl.
