(SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE FINAL FEW PICS. BUT WE HAD TECHNICAL PROBLEMS)
First of all I would like to thank the MCTC for inviting me to judge their open show and all the exhibitors for their entries. The relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of UK Cairn Terrier Clubs’ shows always strikes me, especially now when we are back in Holland and do not attend these shows on a regular basis. I also express my gratitude to your hard working committee for their great hospitality. And last but not least a big thank you to my stewards on the day: Roy, Dawn and Amy. Thanks for your help!
I was very pleased with my winners: BIS Twohoots Barnabas JW and RBIS/BOS Eborvale Enchantress, both true Cairns. BPIS was Landbuck Jazz Hands, a very sound and promising youngster!
VDB (4,2a); 1. Jennings’ Doonrae Youthfulness. 10 year old dark bridle bitch. Nice head and expression. Liked her well shaped eyes of good colour. Excellent bite for such an age. Straight front. Nice length of body and well balanced. BV. 2. Jennings’ Doonrae Virtuoso. 12 year old dark brindle dog of similar type. Nice head and expression. Nice eyes. Good bite. Moved well. Preferred front and length of body of 1. Both had neat, well placed ears. Always a joy to see such oldies going through the ring.
NMSDB (1); 1. Mara’s Tanteazle Tailor Cut. 18 month old dark brindle dog. Nice head and expression, nice eyes. Good forechest. Front angulation better than behind which affected movement.
MPD (4, 1a);. 1. Harland’s Cannwood Zipper At Thackeston. Dark brindle balanced puppy with nice head and expression. Good bite. Straight front and well laid shoulder. Harsh coat coming through. Moved well but still a bit loose in front. 2. Downie & Tate’s Jaeva Face The Music. Another nice balanced dark brindle puppy. Nice head and expression but a shade less masculine than 1. Good coat, well groomed. Moved well but still a bit loose in front. Preferred hind movement of 1. 3. Coffell’s Ometto Made You Look.
PD (4); 1. King & Leighton’s Carradine Night Listener At Harkinleigh, Well balanced wheaten pup. Impressive size for such a young age. Nice head and expression. Good stop. Straight front. Good front and back angulation. Nice tail set. Coat not at its best today. Striding movement. BPD. 2. Felters & Rumens’ Landbuck Colour Code. Nice wheaten young dog. Lacking head furnishings. Harsh coat for such a youngster. Nice straight front and well balanced. Nice tailset. Moved not so well behind today. 3. King & Leighton’s Carradine Maybe The Moon At Harkinleigh.
JD (4, 1a); 1. Newton’s Strathiver Such A Star. Grey brindle dog with nice head and expression. Good stop and nice eyes. Would prefer him to fill somewhat out in head. Well balanced body with good hind angulation. Level back and good tail set. Moved well but still a bit loose in front. 2. Purvis’ Mosspur Licensed To Thrill. Young wheaten dog with harsh coat. Would like more substance in head. Good forechest and straight front. Hind angulation not in balance with front so he did not keep his back level when on the move. 3. Keeves’ Conundrum Under Your Spell With Seveek.Bottom of Form
MD (2); 1. Inett & Harrison’s Noncom Inett Tu Winnit With Carradine. Nice wheaten dog with harsh coat. Good head and expression. Nice eyes. Good bite. A bit more head furnishings would have done him good. Good shoulders and well balanced angulation. Level back and good tail set. A good mover but a bit loose in front. 2. Fairweather’s Ock Little Tinker. Dark brindle dog with nice head and expression I like. Nice eyes. Good length of leg. Good front. Moved a bit stilted behind which made him look shorter.
ND (3); 1. Purvis’ Mosspur Licensed To Thrill. 2. Mara’s Tanteazle Tailor Cut. 3. Tracey’s Strathinver Sportstyle.
PGD (1); 1. Keeves’ Maximal Between Dreams With Seveek. Nice sized balanced dog. Nice head and expression. Nice eyes. Straight front but would like somewhat more forechest. Needs to body up. Moved a bit loose in front.
MLD (1); 1. Stephinson’s Twohoots Barnabas JW. Very nice wheaten/light red dog of good overall balance and substance. Nice head and dreaming expression. Nice eyes. Good front and back angulation. Nice length of leg. Moved effortlessly for his handler, especially behind. A very nice picture! BD, BIS.

Moved well. RBD. 2. Watson’s Fieldron I’ve Got News For You. Grey brindle dog with very nice head and expression. Good bite. Nice earset. Good coat. Nice tailset. Moved well. 3. Fairweather’s Ock Ross I’m The Boss.

Roberts’ Cannwood Danish Affair. Wheaten puppy of similar type. Nice head with dark points. Nice eyes. Good bite. Balanced throughout but a bit slimmer than 1. 3. Tracey’s Retacy Love Angel.
PB (9, 2a); 1. Felters & Rumens’ Landbuck Jazz Hands. Very nice and balanced wheaten puppy. Nice head and expression. Dark points. A bit more head furnishings would have completed the picture today. Straight front. Good bone. Harsh coat for such a youngster. Sound mover, sideways, front and back. Everything is there! BPB, BPIS. 2. Burgin’s Noncom Lucy Locket. Wheaten well balanced puppy. Nice head and expression. Good bite. Coat of good length. Nice length of leg. Moved well. 3. Gregg’s Doonrae Interstella.
JB (4); 1. Petts’ Cairngold Gunning For Gold. Nice red/light brindle bitch. Nice head and expression. Dark points. Good bite. Would like a bit more forechest but she is balanced. Good mover. 2. Chambers’ Cairngrove Clever Glogs. Dark brindle bitch. Nice head and expression. Level back. Slightly longer in back than 1. Moved well. 3. Hawkes’ Maridale Monopoly.
MB (4, 3a); 1. Jones’ Wyefon Miss Minnie. Lively wheaten/light brindle bitch. Good head and expression. Dark points. Balanced angulation. Something spooked her a bit so she dropped her tail.
NB (3); 1. Phillips’ Jaeva Chiquitta. Brindle bitch with lovely typical Cairn head and expression. Nice dark points. Good bite. Super harsh coat. Nicely balanced but must loose some weight. Moved well. 2. Hawkes’ Maridale Lunar Mission. Dark brindle bitch in hardy condition. Nice head and expression. Slightly longer in back than 1. Moved well, sideways, back and front. 3.
