Midland
Cairn Terrier Club
Single
breed open show 6th March 2010
Judge:
Maxine Bennett (Maximal)
Firstly my sincere thanks to
the Midland Cairn Terrier Club Committee for giving me the opportunity to judge
my first Breed Open Show. I had a most
enjoyable day at this well organised and friendly show and would like to thank
all of the exhibitors who allowed me to judge their dogs. In many classes the decision between the
first and second places was very close and gave me a good deal to think about.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (1)
1 Seveek Country Rambler to Svendalens. Dog, 8 years old shown in good condition with strong harsh
coat. Good head with clear stop, dark
eye and well furnished. Correct
dentition. Moved well driving from the
rear, holding topline on the move.
Minor Puppy Dog (1, 1 abs)
Puppy Dog (3)
1 Landbuck Tillisch. A well
put together 10 month red puppy. Lovely
head with good stop giving a true cairn expression. Correct dentition. Good
deep rib with nice lay of shoulders and level topline. Tail well set on. Great movement driving well from the rear and true in front. Won this class on movement & expression. Was pleased to give him Best Puppy in
Show.
2 Carradine Crackaway Jack.
Another well put together puppy who showed throughout. Nice head and expression, good mouth. Good deep rib and lay of shoulders,
excellent bone. Shown in strong coat. Moved well holding topline. A close decision between 1 & 2 however I
preferred the movement and head of 1.
3 Winetta Sir Percy
Junior Dog (4)
1 Brenndarcy Trouble at Mill.
A well turned out dog giving a good outline. Strong male head with dark eye and correct ear placement. Correct dentition. Moved the best in this
class, driving from the rear. Up on his
toes showing well.

shoulders. Moved with drive holding
topline. Tail well set on. Expressive head with dark markings.

from the rear with straight front. A
well put together dog shown in good coat, smart but not overdone. Well up on

these were both two lovely dogs.
Continued showing throughout and earned a well deserved Best Dog and
Best in Show.
2 Glenmear Marauder. I was
very taken with this dog who had so many good points. Lovely head, good stop, correct dentition, great cairn
expression. Good construction with deep
