Ch. Birselaw Countryman Dies

Ch Birselaw Countryman (Rocky) was a very fit and young looking 14 year old, only last week visitors commented how well he was looking for his age, however on Monday he took suddenly ill with breathing difficulties. I rushed him to the Vet where he was ex-rayed. He was found to have an extensive collapsed windpipe, which was inoperably, so sadly the decision was taken to put him to sleep.

Rocky in the early 1990’s won 9 CC’s and 14 RCC’s, these tickets were won in stiff competition, as his sire, Ch Larchlea Take A Chance On Me, and Ch Beaudesert Royal Viking where still being shown at this time. A finalist in the Scottish Kennel Club Top Show Dog Contest in 1993, he finished in 4th place and was the highest placed Terrier.

Sire of one Champion and two ticket winners, he has been a big influence in my bitch line and through one of his daughters he is great grandfather to Billy Fury, in whom I see a lot of Rocky’s characteristics!
