Dylan The Lost Dog That Lived Up To His Name

When Alan Firth rang me from his work (Sutton Police Station) and asked me to put on our news page the details of a lost Cairn in Mansfield (a few miles away) I had no idea that not only did I know the owner but also the Cairn. That was until Alison Waite who owns Seveek Country Rambler to Svendalens emailed me the following.

“Thank you for putting a message about Dylan on the website so quickly.  Luckily I got him back the next day.  Somebody had found him on the road and handed him into a vets half an hour after he had gone missing. The dog warden returned him the next day.  It was the worst 24 hours ever.  I thought I would never see him again.  He will have his collar on at all times now!!  As we have just moved here I was especially worried that he would not know where he was.  It was the first time he had been let out into the garden on his own since we had the "dog proof fencing errected"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We have since discovered that he can climb!  To look on the bright side I've had a lot of exercise and now know all the back streets of Mansfield.”

Alison through the newspage would like to thank Alan for getting the news to me so fast and for the phone calls of support she received from Cairn & Doggy folks who saw it on the site.

She has also decided to have her Cairns chipped (As did I after losing Dora last year in Guildford)

Although Alison got Dylan back quickly through the dog warden she was very, very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the DogLost network.  'there for the sake of god" go any of us.  It's very reassuring that there is a nation-wide backup in case your dog is lost or stolen.  The messages of support are a comfort. Also the more eyes looking when a dog is lost the better.”

Alison is now going to become  a “Doglost Helper”
