My thanks to Pat Dobson (who is now owned by Brenndarcy Sundance Kid “Buddie”) who found this lovely picture in old book. It is of course The late Duke of Windsor with his favourite breed. Isn’t the expression of the Cairn just wonderful? The painting was done in 1925 by John St Helier Lander and the original now hangs in Leeds City Art Gallery . (Just 10 miles up the M62 and I’ve never been there!) Brenda Pat Clarke has emailed to say she was looking in an old book and thinks that the Royal Cairn is probably “Dochfour Molly” |
