I am very please to announce the results for the Scottish terrier Breeds league for 2009. The overall winner is Sorcha Price and Crisp who won with a total score of 251. Crisp is a Grade 6 agility cairn terrier. The results were for 63 classes. They also finished 27th in the Small Grade 6  Agility Club tables. Well done to Sorcha and Crisp, a brilliant result!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           .

In second place was Mary Morgan with Misty. They had a score of 244, ten points below Crisp but they only had 26 classes so not as many as Crisp but still a good achievement – well done. Misty is a Grade 7 cairn terrier. During 2009, Misty gained her Agility Gold Warrant – what an achievement!

In third place with 219 points is Adrienne Atkinson and Tessa. Tessa, a Scottie cross started the year as a Grade 4 dog. In May, Tessa won out into Grade 5, in June she became a grade 6 dog and in August she won into Grade 7. The results are for 32 classes. A very good performance throughout the year, well done to them both.

Nikki Barber and Ollie a cairn, finished in fourth place with a score of 141 out of 36 classes having been the leader for July’s results. They too have had a very good year. Ollie started the league as a Grade 4 dog and won into Grade 5 in May. In the UKAgility organisation, in May, Ollie moved to Senior in Performance Level and from Beginners to Novice Steeplechase in April. They also finished 20th in the Small Grade 4 Agility Club tables.

Louise Palmer and Milly a Cairn were 9th in this league and was placed 43rd in The Agility Club Small Grade 1 tables. It is good to see three Cairns placed in the Agility Club Tables for 2009.

Megan Drinkall and her cairn terrier Alfie were first in the grade one dogs gaining 53 points. This is such a brilliant achievement for her as she has had quiet a lot of hard work training Alfie. Megan is 11 years old. Well done on your achievement.

At the end of the year we now have 19 members – ten Cairn Terriers, three West Highland Terriers, one Scottish Terrier, two Skye Terriers, one Cairn Westie cross and two Scottie crosses. It is good to see a mixture of terriers.

I have been asked to continue with the Scottish terrier League so do send me all you wins from 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2010.

And finally I would like to congratulate all the winners for 2009 and to wish you all a very happy new year.

best wishes

Jennie Fairweather
