Can We Help Our Australian Doggy Friends?

I received the following email from Geoff Thomas

I have been watching the news about the bush fires in Australia and keeping updated through friends there. They have so many dog show folk who have lost homes, dogs, stock and sometimes, tragically, whole families have been killed. The VCA website is organising a virtual dog show, that anyone can enter, all proceeds going to those affected by the fires. I have attached a link maybe you could include it on the news page.

DOGS Victoria - Bush Fire Emergency Assistance - Virtual Dog Show Fundraiser

Trying to be pro active I have been wondering what else could be arranged over here to try and help the dog folk over there. There are quite a few cairn folk in Victoria, and some are close to the fires. The Wards have fires at the edge of their property, last I heard.

I have a few cairn collectibles I am thinking of auctioning on ebay to raise some money. They include some mounted Mac postcards, a large mounted collection of cairn cards and photos and a 1st edition of the Beynon and Fisher book, when it was just Beynon!

Any ideas on a better way to raise some money? I was thinking of just posting the items on my website and maybe a few Club sites and closing before Crufts so they could be collected there. Then thought ebay may raise more. All suggestions and ideas welcome.”
