Chris Roberst has sent me the above scan of a print she has come across. She wants to know if anyone has knowledge of it..
The print, is unsigned. It's in an old frame and the backing is loose revealing that the print is mounted on a photograph from "The Peoples" Sporting Gallery of the English Rugby team captained by "Sammy Woods" (date of this photograph approx 1892/1898).
Does anyone know anything about this print?
Chris Roberts (Mrs.) The 'Miss Marples' of the Cairn World have been at work (Yvonne Croyman and Sue Kinton) who have solved the mystery. The print is 'The Hunters' (Terriers in a barn - ratting) by George Armfield 1818-1893. Many thanks to Yvonne and Sue for their 'investigations'
