Our Dawn Shows Them How it's Done!

British Dog Grooming Championships 2013

The  British Dog Grooming Championship, took place this year on Sunday 6 October at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire County Showground.

I competed in the Experienced Groomers Hand stripping Class and was placed 1st by the French judge Magali Delaye and then went forward to compete against the other Class winners in the Experienced group. All four judges from the day reassess the grooming skills of the Experienced group’s seven class winners and select the top three, I was thrilled to be placed 3rd overall.

The judges for this year's competition were:

Marlene Carter - Poodle classes
Alison Rogers LCGI- Mixed and others
Magali Delaye – Terrier Classes
Kelly Davies LCGI – Juniors

I groomed Irene and we are pictured winning the Experienced group Hand Strip Class

In a grooming competition you are bound by strict rules- the dog must have a minimum of 8 weeks coat growth, be presented nice and clean and you are marked on technique and final presentation, in all you have 2.5 hrs to transform the dog!

We won 2 lovely rosettes, 2 cut class trophies and £75!

I'm sure all of you would like to join me in congratulating Dawn on such a brilliant result!
